What do you guys do when you get bored? Do you find that generally your life decisions outside of poker has alot to do with keeping the game from getting boring?

I notice whenever I get bored I always get into these preflop coinflip situations or just the game doesnt flow normally. Think it's a big leak. Appreciate thoughts

I make up rumors about the staff at the room. Like "I heard Sheldon likes to pick up migrant workers from out front of the Home Depot and pay them to choke him in the shower while he masturbates".

Poker is boring ... yes, yes, 'good' poker tends to be boring. But a lot folks crave 'the action' that it brings. So when a run of bad cards comes along they tend to 'create' their own action by playing bad.

If you are playing just to have fun and maybe turn a few bucks, then I wouldn't worry to much about straying the path a little 'to stay awake'.

Pick a Player to 'study' for an orbit or two.

I'm not sure how outside decisions influence your poker. If you want, post a couple so we can get some reference. It's hard to offer our life experience when we really don't know what you are referencing/correlating.

PF coin flips for 'too many' BB is a leak for sure ... and probably something that your opponents have picked up on if you play in a regular pool of opponents.

I play pretty wide, so I (should) never get upset with non-standard play but it happens and keeps things off balance for sure.

If you are getting bored and it causes you to not play your best, then it's time to end your session and come back when you have better focus. Obv this is not possible in tournaments, but in cash you can stand up or sit out and take a brief walk.

Not sure I even scratched your intent here but .. GL

The way to avoid getting bored preflop and playing too many hands is to constantly strive to play better preflop. Kinda constantly make the game harder on yourself to play better. The bottom of your ranges is a great place to start. For example, most hands that you do play are played 100% of the time, but at the bottom of your range some hands might only be played 50% (or some other percentage) of the time. Create randomization with the suits.

Instead of playing too loose, you will be playing better. If you get some hand at the bottom of your range that only gets played 50% of the time preflop, you'll be thinking if my single suited hand had been suited to the spade or clubs I would have raised, but since it was suited to the hearts I'm folding here. You keep yourself alert, you keep focus and you play better. Randomization with suits in a 4 card game creates lots of different percentages. Playing better and being entertained instead of bored is a win - win.

Just like answer20 suggested "study a player for an orbit," you can study your cards way more in depth.

When ladybruin is bored, they like to make/take up HU challenges putting in terms that clearly nobody would take up, and then act like the other person is scared, even though the other side offered to make every concession to let it happen including paying vig for escrow.
