Playing 5-5 PLO with a flop/turn spot.

5-5, 200bb effective with some previous history at the table with the flop raiser.

Previous history, raise AAx8 100bb deep, villain calls, see a multiway flop that comes 982, i bet 80% pot, villain raises, I jam, run into 99KJ, lose multiple runs, on to the next one.

sitting in BB: 200bb effective, 5 limps, I check 9986 rainbow

flop ($30) AT9
checks, I lead flop for $20, 1 call, villain flop above raises pot, folds back around to me and I hate my hand for obvious reasons. the caller in between was counting out the call for the raise before it even gets back to me.

Clearly I can't fold preflop. At the table I was debating the merit of just folding the flop when raised. The board is really wet, there are very few good turn cards and both the other players limping ranges can include weak AA** and a number of TT**, however, as stupid as this sounds with 1 out, thinking I'll get paid, I called the raise. A check call just seems like we're starting to build a pot where even if the board pairs, our opponent will have good equity or have us annihilated. Check raising seemed alright, but when we get jammed on by this particular player we dislike our hand that much more. I can't put together a range for this flop raise that I'm content with. At worst with an A+NFD he's got 32% but his range is at least 2pair+draw (with FD>>>straight draw) and that has like 44%, then the rest of his range is AA/TT I think. Any explanation for how to play this flop.

I call flop, caller in between calls
Turn ($350) brick
check, player bets $200, villain snap pots, fold...

Question more about the flop than turn

turn you know what to do.

yeah, play same. i bet flop and just call the raise.
you could make an exploitative fold with a read that they don't raise draws here but its one you have to make knowing the game flow and players involved.

Pre flop is standard.

I'm check folding the flop and not thinking twice about it. Your reasoning to fold is spot on, as is your thoughts on check/calling. Check raising would be suicidal. You'd be out of position with lots of money behind. If you got called, you're either a small favorite or you're crushed.

If you don't want to fold on the flop, you could check/call flop and then check the flop hoping to get down to showdown for cheap. I don't think you'd get to showdown for cheap though. This would be a losing play unless Vs play straight forward and only when they have the nuts.

Pre is fine. I check that flop.

As played, I probably just fold to the re-raise on the flop. We hate almost all turns.

Turn is obviously a fold.

maybe c/call is better.

c/fold seems way too nitty.

If we are planning ahead, which cards are we happy to see?
Any diamond, broadway, 8 complete a draw. A/T makes us bottom full, which is an in the game decision, but is usually a trouble hand. A offsuit 7 makes us the sucker straight. If any off suit card below 6 is a relative blank. If anyone bets, if the flop read is correct, we are still behind and should fold.

I check/call the flop. Sorry I didn't make that clear.

I don't lead and as played I fold to the re-raise. Definitely fold turn.
