V is ~50 y/o Asian, had been active since joining the table, opening several hands. He had played a couple hands a little funky postflop (xc'ing monotone flop, donking small on board pairing turn, then mucking at showdown on double board pair vs. nut flush). Hadn't seen a 3bet from him yet.

First hand preflop is clear fold.As played i think calling at least one on flop is mandatory

since straddle will often call wide preflop and use that on low and hard to hit boards.He

continues barreling on turn,and here became really dicey,but don`t hate call tbh.

With that sizing he is rapping only fullhouse on river,i would be closer to fold.

But again people make crazy things so call is not unreasonable.I just don`t see people

barreling this board 3 times with total air often.

Second hand is clear shove.I know it`s not thrilling situation,as you are basically

praying he doesn`t have higher flushdraw but with 700 in the middle after his bet

you have to put it in.

Hand 2 call

Hand 1 - Is the straddle mandatory? It would make a difference in how wide he's defending, but given that it's the first couple of orbits, my guess is that it won't make a difference and the river is still a fold either way, as players are just playing much tighter early in the session.

Hand 2 - I'd get it in but would be interested in turn plans for those who decide to c/c

1. Not much live experience, but value hands are 99, 92, T2, 52 and unlikely TT/55. With a flush draw present and the actual value range that should be limited by preflop, I would call and make a note.



2. I call here. We don't have a lot of showdown value and it looks like we have to improve. There are lots of turn cards he might shut down on and we may even get to bluff.

Yes the straddle was mandatory.

I ended up tank calling H1 and he showed down some AKKXss hand and then expressed frustration with me for the amount of time I took, saying that I had an easy call.
I agree it should be a fold w/o reads and early on in the session.

H2 I jammed and he folded pretty quickly, which was a bit unexpected. I guess he can b/f some AA w/no additional equity assuming tight hero range? Seems pretty dicey given the price he's getting.

Why is it bad? Aren't there a good chunk of hands that do quite well with a bet/fold?

Its MW otf with a cc'er and Hero only 1200 behind so he really shouldn't be cbetting many hands in the first place that would have to fold to Hero's shove. Maybe like AcA33 or KQJT or something?

Hand 1 I think I fold river, and maybe turn. People usually have a boat when they throw out the 3rd barrel on the river. Not really a lot of sensible hands for him to bluff, and if he has trips he's definitely overplaying his hand.

In hand 2, is V the 3-bettor? I almost certainly jam here. We block the main set he could show up with. I expect to get a fold from overpairs unless they also have the club draw, which of course we block. If he decides to station us with a naked overpair we're ahead, and if he folds naked overpairs we're taking it down a ton. Even against AA with the club draw (which is probably our realistic worst case scenario) we have something like 37%.

I agree with the villain that H1 is a very easy call. He should expect you to follow up with a bet on that flop as it's a good one for your range.
