Game is essentially a 2/5 game with everybody straddling the button for 10. Weird rule where there's a 300 max bet, regardless of pot size. Just want a quick check of my thinking here...

I'm button straddle with AA77d. Sb opens for 35. Two callers, both pretty weak. I pot to 200 ish. SB calls, so do the other players.

Flop Jd9h4s.

SB bets 300, one fold, and other player goes all in for 75 and it's up to me. SB has something, but isn't necessarily "ahead" when he bets here. Is this a standard peel and evaluate?

Just fold and quit this game. 300 max bet regardless of pot is a dumb rule. Take your action to a different casino or force the casino to change the rules.

Oh, fold your hand.

Sadly it's a state wide thing...the bet limit

I'm curious about the rational behind folding. Flop is definitely better for his range than mine but it seems super week to just fold getting a decent price here and a bdfd.

What are you going to beat at showdown vs. 2 players on that flop?

Oh, fold your hand.
It's probably a much better game because of the cap.

Oh, raise and get it in.

What does it mean when 'you' pot a straddle? (Does everyone know you have AAxx?)

Are you good here 33% of the time? You're putting in 900 to win 1800 'eventually'.

What does it mean when SB donks into you? wrap, 2 pair, set? The answer to #1 is the key to this answer as well.

Are you passive post-Flop when you miss?

Not sure we can really help you with this one. I'm not saying it's a 50-50 decision, but I need other factors. If you are crushed by the short stack you are probably getting a good price in the side at 50-50. But if you are crushed by the SB, then that's almost 4 'big bets' out the door. GL

I'm a pretty aggressive preflop raiser, especially in position. The small blind is aware of that. He knows that I could have any Broadway run Downs, double student middle rundowns, Aces, connected Kings or Queens, the range is pretty wide.

SB is also a pretty aggressive player. His lead range includes wraps, pair plus straight draws, and the standard value stuff like 2pair or better.

I called the flop to evaluate the turn...which was Kd. SB fired 300 again and while I think that card clobbered his range it gave me the nfd getting like 6:1. I called. River was a diamond, love running good.

Hard to make a mistake putting in your stack when you get 20% of it in pre with AA.
