Just had a discussion with a poker player (who we designate as A), don't know him or his skill level just in the same group for a local poker app/game.

Another player B (UTG straddle) had previously mentioned about whether he could/should fold AAK2 to a re-potted 3 bet in a mid stakes live game.

I'm no Omaha pro but I made mention that it would always be a mistake to fold any AAxx, short of holding three Aces (To call or to raise... Eh not so sure.) Player A was adamant that folding was the clear and obvious choice. Too raggy making relative hand strength weak and you're lost once flop hits unless you hit gin.

I made mention that you could always repot it and almost commit entire stack as getting it all in with any AAxx would not be a mistake (Not in love with AAxx by any stretch but we can never be in terrible shape).

He didn't like that option either.

Essentially my argument boils down to folding or shoving (where possible) AAxx can not be wrong.

While the answer can always be "it depends", in this situation I claim that the vast majority of cases this would hold true.

Am I right or wrong or argument still too little information?

Well he's definately not trolling, and another player chimed in saying he always fold AA rags to any single raise oop... I decided to just to say nothing.
Primarily cause at that point it was clearly a lost cause...

Yes, there exist scenarios where you should fold a non-AAA AAxx hand preflop in PLO cash games.

Imagine you're 200bbs deep. You look down at AA72r UTG so you open to 3.5bbs, get 2 callers, then a nit 3bets (who is only ever 3betting AAxx) on BTN to 19bbs. The best play here is to fold.

This, is vastly different to the below.

If you look through any database, it shouldn't be difficult to find 5 or 10 scenarios that you could plug into ppt and amend to find the outcome. Whether this is worth doing or not, that's another situation again.

You can fold bad AAxx in some situations, usually involving deeper stacks and a very tight player 3/4betting.

Yeah I'd agree with being able to fold crap AAxx OOP with very tight players, good reads and deep stacks.
Though in a general, non extreme cases and most likely also applying to the scenarios I listed above, folding would be poor.
Especially folding to a single raise just cause OOP.

Well that was the actual hand played but the argument came down to ragged Aces in general.

Also multi way all in with crappy AA is also foldable. It will depends on how much you have pot committed but equities run so close that it is not worth risking for someone having better aa, which crushes ur odd.
