5-10 Double Board spread limit. 600 max bet, 5 handed.

Villain in this hand is very good TAG. We are around 3K effective which isn’t relevant for this hand.

Pre: Everyone limps (very common)

Flop (50) :
9d3d2d
6s6h8c

Blinds check, hero 50, only V in sb calls

Turn (150) :
9d3d2d 5s
6s6h8c Qd

Check, hero 150, call

River (450) :
9d3d2d 5s 5h
6s6h8c Qd Qs

hard to imagine a competent player giving us action with worse otr. he's also not folding better

we might quarter him once in a while but that's it. is it spread in the casino or a home game? do they rake split pots?

I'm checking back this particular hand and feel fine about it

Pot should be ok - villain should lead a lot of his boats when diamond board fills up.

I don't think we have a ton of fold equity but with 6 blocker and qq runout, villain will be under some pressure.

I don't see much value in betting smaller since our main goal is bluffing out boats, we could go like 3/4.

Checkback could still be fine - would want a slightly deeper reader on this villain, especially if he does not understand correct strategy for double board.

like if u bet 400 can he make it 600 more so like 1k or 600 is the max per street/cap per hand. If this is normal pot limit I check but idk I guess if you can't really get c/r or only for like 200 you might as well bet

Looking at this again, stacks are actually quite deep - checkback should be better since hero has no nut blockers and is suceptible to check-raise.

Blast off here is pretty marginal even vs. very passive opponent, so again we can really only justify with decent reads.

For only a single pot-sized bet remaining, bet is more likely to be a small winner.

If Villain is actually competent, his line strongly suggests a one-way nut hand with no equity on the other board.

Failing to raise preflop with aces in double board is criminal.

Game is time raked at the casino. If I bet 400 he can make it 1000. I didn’t raise pre as it would go 5 ways and my hand does very poorly multiway. Also, good rundown are favored over bad aces

That evaluation of aaxxx in double board is incorrect. Aaxxx is more valuable in double board than single board. Similarly, you should downgrade many rundowns double board because it is quite hard to scoop both boards without sufficient high card / nut potential.

Downgrading this hand slightly for lack of 2nd flush and 26 sidecard is fine.

Lack of a 2nd flush draw is actually not quite as bad as it looks either, as we can still often play blockers agressively. Optimal strategy in double-board is very tight/conservative.

But this hand still plays much better as a raise.
