Thanks for sharing, Jared.
+1
Delete the entire sub-forum imo. It depresses me that such a community exists

+1. Have you checked out bbv4life or oot yet?

OP - Terrific post, just excellent. Anyone who hasn't spent the 15 mins or so reading through should do so.

Many thanks

Cliff notes please???????

Great post OP. We need more of this altruistic donation of thoughts and knowledge to the poker community and less $2k ebooks.

Thanks, but just to clarify my name is not Jared. Jared Tendler is a mental game coach that I use and LearnedFromTV was recommending him, not me. You should really know this too, since we had a lengthy discussion on skype together.

and what happened half way through ur graph that suddenly made ur redline go up 45 degrees?
Started 3-betting more and pulling the trigger much more frequently on big bluffs and hero calls. I think these changes made me win more while I was playing my A-game, but the increased variance of this style caused me to tilt more frequently and harder so I think I overcompensated in terms of adding aggression and pushing small edges.

Not that it's a big deal if you can edit the OP one of the examples was backwards...
Yes, that's a typo, but it's too late to go back and edit it now.

"I can’t count the number of times during my career I’ve sat at my desk and alternated between staring at my drastically depleted cashier balance and the ceiling, in utter disbelief and despair, feeling like I was trapped in a nightmare."

Made me laugh, been there so many times!

I have also had a lot of trouble with poker affecting other parts of my life and its something I am definitely getting better at but also still have a way to go, also loved the advice on doing things now rather than putting them off to a future date as its so easy to slip into a cycle of pushing that future date further and further back.

Nice post for sure, if people can't be bothered taking the time to read it then that's fine by me, some really useful things in there and we don't need everyone reading it

Excellent post, people underestimate the mindset part of the game/life so much, it is not just a small part in a professional poker players repertoire, its crucial.

probably the single best post I've read on 2+2. It's pretty simple, but that's the beauty of it. It's about poker, but it's also about life. I can't thank you enough for sharing this.

Well, at first glance I got the impression I receive advice by a HS player.
And I'd much rather emulate a 25/50 winner then someone that plays below my limits. No big deal though, still good read...

With all the respect, but been small minded and thinking inside the box like that cant bring you much good in life.
Sometimes playing small stakes professionally for such a long time demands a lot more of mental control and focus, because its a lot harder to be motivated to do the every day grind.
