So, after a day of losses where my average all in equity was 64% (kept getting it in good and getting drawn out on), I got a bit bothered and got in a mood.

The next day, I guess you could say that my thinking was a bit skewed. My draws weren't coming in, fold equity was little to none and I was getting owned by multiple players. Rough day. Well, I put it down to tilt, went back the day after that with a better attitude and better mindset and promptly had a the worst session I've ever had.

I've managed to lose almost 25% of my entire bankroll in four days and my confidence is shaken. I'm in the worst downswing I've ever had since I've started playing this game and I wish I could say it was just variance but it isn't. Now, I'm finding myself getting into situations where I'm hesitant to get it in, even though I should.

For instance, yesterday, I raise with AKKx, get HU with an overpair and NFD on the turn. My opponent makes a pot sized bet, which puts him all in and makes the SPR less than 1. It should have been an instacall but I hesitated and folded, in large part due to not wanting to drop another buyin, if my draw missed.

Having babbled all of that, have you ever found yourself in a similar situation of getting gunshy and what did you do to remedy it or work through it?

Play smaller games if the amount at risk is causing you to make bad plays. When you feel more confident again you can play your regular games again. I regularly drop waaaay down when I am running bad (often accompanied by play bad, like making scared folds). Glgl.

Thank you for the response and encouragement.

Aside from a few minutes online to try out some new HUD stats, I'm taking a break and trying to use the time productively - like reviewing some hands, checking out more training videos and even just observing high stakes games to see if I can pick up anything. I'm going on vacation soon and won't have the ability to play online for a few days, so that might be an added blessing in disguise.

Sounds like a plan! You'll get back in the swing of things in no time.
