Hey All,

First time really dabbling in a larger PLO game, I've got quite a few hands on 0.25/0.50 zoom but obviously not enough.

Its an 8 handed home game with all rec players and people are going crazy.

I start the hand with $1500, everyone covers.

I have been card dead for the first two hours and then this happens.

Straddled to $10, I call UTG+1 with As 987c, Mid raises to $60 (he just got coolered in a big pot), 2 callers behind, straddle calls and I complete. ($310 total)

Flop Ah9s7s

UTG pots, hero ???

fold pre (boring i know)

fold flop, UTG range is a set or some really big draw (the draw is more likely since u block sets) and you dont fare well vs that. plus theres people behind you. very unlikely you get to realize your equity unless you just get it in now, and if you run the numbers you'll see that this hand doesnt fare too great against hands that want to get it all in.

If he was only 100bb deep would that be a situation to gii, assuming he didn't fold pre?

Having the As makes me think this is a jam. We can get folds from big draws that are worried their flush would be no good/

fold pre and the flop. this is a very weak hand and you should be extremely selective utg.

It's even worse than UTG it's flatting first after an UTG raise.

Lol@folding flop. You have 3 pair and backdoor straight draw + NFD blocker. Repot flop. If you fold this flop you are folding way too much

man i dont like to get in 300bb on that flop, you never ahead, you have no nutted equity, there are better spots, there are almost no good run outs, just fold.

utg pots into 4ppl so you have 0 fold equity against him if you repot, he probably has the same hand with a spade draw to go. he should never have aces in that spot but still hands like 68TJ with spades and backdoor hearts are massive favourite against you.

and you are not last to act, you really wanna get this in multiway??
all in all it is a fold on the flop.

everybody who says repot have no clue about this game, no deeper understanding about the game, why would you ever want to get this in at SPR 5, with the preflop raiser and multiple opponents to act behind.

the best thing would be folding this pre, if you would have another spade in your hand, you can easily open and it would be really nice candidate to 4bet bluff too.

I usually agree with you but not here. I think gii would be very -EV, which is of course an example of why we should fold pre.

For 300bb? Does it matter how deep we are?

Sure, if the SPR were 1 we'd get this in.

spr is the most important thing in plo, tells us how much equity we need in every spot, also to adjust bet sizing

just wondering if this was a must straddle table??

pre is a disaster

the whole game is preflop in PLO

it's very logical to assume an optimal VPIP is around 18% assuming it's 8 handed and since you are first to act in a 3 blind game I assume your VPIP should be about 10-12%, as it is in an 8 handed hold em game

I don't have an equity calculator but this hand doesn't look like a top 12% hand to me at all tho I could definitely be wrong

I'm always folding this hand pre flop I think. It seems impossible to win with it EP, you don't make enough nut straights or nut flushes and as you can see in this hand you're top twos are never that strong

Call flop imo

PPT puts it in the 32nd precentile.

Stacking off with this holding is a typical mistake that Texas Hold'em players make when they try Omaha Hold'em. Both bottom set and top two are hardly auto stack offs when deep, although there are certain situations when you can stack off with them especially in low SPR scenarios.
