If they have one of the $500 stacks and the pre-flop pot is around $100 you have a very good chance to do that. More often than not they typically lead with the set.

Good thread. Funny because I was thinking about making this exact thread or something really similar to this recently.

Personally, I am a holdem convert still learning the game so I tend to shy away from Vpip'ing too wide as I feel like it will lead to mistakes postflop. However I do see a fair amount of value in overlimping from later positions to play MW pots with fish. In 6max 25-100plo so far, I'm running 31/18 in 5k hands. Anyway here are my responses and I've tried not to look at what others have said:

1. QJ76 - Open to 15, 4 callers fold
2. KQT5r - 2 limpers, raise to 15, 1 caller fold
3. J752r - 1 limper fold
4. AQT4 - 1 limper, raise to 25 fold unless whale in pot
5. AJT2 - 2 limpers fold

6. 6533 - 2 limpers, raise to 30 fold unless whale
7. K762r - 2 limpers fold
8. K843 - Straddle, 3 callers fold
9. 8542 - 3 limpers fold
10. J433 - Straddle, 3 callers overlimp, probably folding to a raise

11. A653, Straddle, 2 callers overlimp
12. T984 - 2 limpers fold
13. JJ87 - 1 limper, raise to 20, 2 calls call
14. Q975 Straddle, 1 caller overlimp
15. KJJT Straddle, 2 callers Raise. limp is acceptable.

16. KQ52 - 3 limpers fold
17. K842 - 3 limpers fold
18. AJ65 2 limpers, raise to 25 fold
19. 4322 1 limper, raise to 20, 2 callers fold
20. AK94 3 limpers, raise to 15 fold

21. Q963 - 1 caller, raise to 25 fold
22. 8432 - 5 limpers fold
23. AA76 - Straddle, 4 callers raise
24. T774 2 limpers, raise to 25 fold
25. JT86 - 4 limpers overlimp

26. QT73 - 5 limpers, raise to 45 fold
27. KT82 - 4 limpers fold
28. A642 4 limpers overlimp
29. J874r - 2 limpers fold
30. QJ72 - 5 limpers fold

31. KJ85 - 4 limpers fold
32. T985r - Straddle, raise to 30 fold

I really don't understand people that are folding hand category #11, #28 in an unopened pot.
To me it's well worth paying the blind for the potential to flop a nutted type hand with imo minimal downside in terms of domination issues. E.g. a hand like 9876 will make a lot of second best straights but a hand like A642ds is kinda hit or miss otf and the second nut straight runs into the nut straight a lot less often.

How is #28 "highly speculative" where #11 is only "speculative"? #28 looks like a stronger hand to me.

Over Limp dic #12 please lol

But you lost me when you said A642 will run into the nut straight less often than 9876...

I assume when playing 9876 and the hated T984 that everyone on here is playing only when our draws and straights are on top of the board. And when they are not the nuts our position allows us to better gauge if it is good anyway and we have a better chance to realize our equity.

I agree though that I would never fold a suited ace for so cheap. When you have the flush everyone is suspicious of the bare ace.

Maybe what I said was confusing.

I'm saying that on a board like A365, A642ds runs into the nut straight a lot less often than say 9876 on T876. Because having the nut straight on those lower boards requires ppl to be limping really trashy hands.

Those nut suited hands AXYZ where X,Y,Z are <6 benefit from minimal straight domination issues relative to other hands.

I thought that is what you may have been saying. But people do limp really trashy hands in my experience.

653 is much better than 642 (and plays better postflop imo)
