5/5 Deep Stacked Flop Decision, 4 ways

Action is 9 handed at a 5/5 live uncapped game. Hero is YWG, reg in this game. This is Hero's very first hand dealt. 4 other regs, 4 unknowns. Only 1 reg is very good and hes not in the hand.

BB (3k) : MAWG, has drinks in his side table
UTG (900): bad reg, MAWF, super arrogant
Hero (5k): reg, viewed as tight, but only bc game is wild
CO (1.5K): YWG, never seen him, looks nervous

UTG opens to $20, Hero looks at QsJhThTs, 3! to 70$
Action folds to CO, who 4 bets to $250 (super anxious looking now)
BB cold calls $250
UTG calls $250
Hero calls $250
***at this point my thoughts are: CO has AAxx, BB has anything lol, and UTG has KKxx or a doublesuited rundown type hand (she would 100% shove AA)

FLOP
7h3c8h

BB snap pots for $1000, leaving him 1750$ behind
Hero????

Seems like simple fold? None of your draws are that great and if someone has a higher flush draw you're dead.

Re: 5/5 Deep Stacked Flop Decision, 4 ways

Spr 3, many to act behind, only 4 outs to the nuts, no backdoor flush,
at this point bb put everyone all in on the flop, except the co and hero

probably a coinflip if bb floped 2pair and open ender without flush but still people to act behind who easily have TT beat.

you could gamble vs BB and win a bigger sidepot if you get there.
but as you said he could easily have a set too. 889T or something near

very tilting spot, its a fold unfortunately

SPOILER*************

I tanked and jammed for BBs stack. CO folded, BB sigh called. Board ran out Kd, Qh. UTG had called, not sure if I put that in OP, she rolled over Kc, Ks for turned top set. BB saw my flush and mucked, saying he had two pair with a gutshow. so he must have had 4578 with no hearts or 3457 lol. we scooped for 7.25k....but Im still not sure how I feel about my play

Why would this be a very tilting spot?

because we are not last to act, if we would be last to act and everyone mucks, we could go with the hand

but op did exactly what i said and luckily scooped, i had bb on nearly the exact same hand that op spoilered and we can easily go against that.

gg for scooping man, still if someone behind would be deeper it would be for sure a muck

I guess co is kinda short but your just dead for the main pot the 30ish % of the time he has nut hearts. Seems like a pretty clear fold IMO.

3! Pre is really bad from EP especially if the game is wild.
Flop is a fold especially if UTG called before you and you have 1 or more players left to act.

Re: 5/5 Deep Stacked Flop Decision, 4 ways

dont let them talk ***** to you, 3bet this hand is very fine that deep, and the point that you went with the hand shows that you dont play scared money like 80% of this nits here would have folded 100/100 times

so well done, you just can go either way here and you put the bbfish on 2 pair and went with the hand, so great job.

dont overthink it

Re: 5/5 Deep Stacked Flop Decision, 4 ways

Thanks for all the replies. I do think the 3! is fine. I agree it would be much better in late position, but I try to play a 3bet or fold strategy as much as possible in this game. The hands people show up with are trash a lot of times, and my specific hand here doesnt really play great too multiway with high SPR post flop. I want to lower SPR so I can leverage my stack as much as possible. So preflop I am happy with, but post flop I think was close. I dont want to be results oriented, but I did think that I had a ton of equity vs BB and that I could fold out the CO unless he had AAh specifically. even then I still have 20% equity against him and the sidepot with BB was big enough that I decided to go with it

I think 3! Is ok (balance between 3! And flat) but advise caution when the pair is the bottom of a 4 card sequence, because it hurts playability when you flop 2 pair.

I would think about whether it is worthwhile to have a range I want to .3bet with in this game ( which is described as wild) that I may need to fold. A 3bet or fold strategy in a wild game where people show up with extremely wide ranges is a losing strategy imo. I think In a standard vanilla game it is fine to have a 3bet fold range just not in this game. Your 3bet right after an UTG raise accomplishes nothing other than: 1) bloat a pot up from a sucky position 2) where someone in LP button may click it back 3)leaving you sandwiched to UTG to 5bet. If the above scenario happens frequently in the game then you have no choice but to have a 3bet fold fold strategy.

Re: 5/5 Deep Stacked Flop Decision, 4 ways

Looked this spot up and Yeah this isn’t a great 3b candidate vs utg your 3b range should be ttaj ds+ and fold the tt + disconnected ds hands like tt k7 ds- hands like this fit nicely into the calling region
So pf looks like your spewing /playing 2 loose
On this flop is dicey it’s not a very good board for you and you are gonna get it in pretty
Bad quite a lot if the stacks go in.
I kind of like just checking back here and trying to take it from there.

Standard shove as played, too much equity.
