local casino 5/5/10 9-handed PLO

I had AAcK5c on button with $2100.
Preflop: one limper, MP(villain) raise to $35, MP+1 called, I pot to $170, villain called, mp+1 called. pot is $540

flop Kc9c9, checked to me, I pot for $540 (I think this is the mistake), villain repot (cover), mp+1 folded, I tank and went all in.

villain had 789T

We ran twice, I lost to a turn full house for the first board and bricks for the second board.

Would highly appreciate any thoughts/advices.

Yes, checking would be the right decision on the flop.

Given I pot the flop, do you guys think I should just fold to the repot knowing he had a 9 for sure and save $1500, or was I pretty committed?
I ran a odds calc, it’s about 1/3 equity for my hand with two cards to come.

if you ran the calc you already know the answer

I like a check on the flop. You have a ton of equity on the flop even against a bare 9, and are going to hate getting raised here if you bet, which is exactly what happened.

Pot is a pretty poor sizing and bet/ calling off 200bbs here is near suicide imo.

I don't mind checking or betting flop small depending on your strategy in this spot. You don't need much protection really.
