3rd nut flush vs maniac

UTG: 43.26 BB
CO: 26.46 BB
Hero (BTN): 98 BB
SB: 44.05 BB
BB: 702.83 BB

SB posts SB 1 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 2 BB) Hero has Q A 9 6

fold, fold, Hero raises to 4 BB, SB calls 3 BB, BB raises to 8 BB, Hero calls 4 BB, SB calls 4 BB

Flop: (24 BB, 3 players) 2 7 9
SB checks, BB bets 11.64 BB, Hero calls 11.64 BB, SB calls 11.64 BB

Turn: (58.92 BB, 3 players) 4
SB checks, BB bets 57.15 BB, Hero raises to 78.36 BB and is all-in, fold, BB calls 21.21 BB

River: (215.64 BB, 2 players) 9

Hero shows Q A 9 6 (Flush, Queen High)
(Pre 49%, Flop 46%, Turn 0%)
BB shows 5 J 2 K (Flush, King High)
(Pre 51%, Flop 54%, Turn 100%)
BB wins 209.17 BB
opinion about villain (the player on the BB) :he is very loose and maniac he opens every hand and calls every 3bet his vpip is 90 percent and as you see his 3bet sizing is very fishy.Flop:I have top pair and flush draw so I think I should call.Turn:I have 3rd nut flush but my opponent is very maniac and I dont what to do.

Re: 3rd nut flush vs maniac

I would have jammed the flop with amazing equity against a maniac.

Don't see any way to fold the turn. SB has more nut flushes than the maniac.

Looks like a cooler to me.

Would have raised flop as well. Tough break.

Fold pre and then fold pre? With SB so short and not closing the action don't even think you can call such a small 3-bet(steaks? maybe calling is ok if rake is low). Raising flop seems best, and can't fold river with 3 flush blockers.

Re: 3rd nut flush vs maniac

I see this a lot. Usually 90 vpip players will be forced to give up a ton when they miss. A true maniac will have lower clubs here and Kxxx and Axxx blockers.

Also mr 90 vpip is currently sitting on 700bb so hes probably less incentivized to bluff and is probably thinking clear at this point.

It’s a clear cut fold pre in any config. I can get behind AQ96 w Ac and 3 clubs as an open but when you have Q high clubs and 3 of them it’s no bueno.

As played it’s a gross spot when you get to turn w 3 clubs. I think it’s close. It’s pretty hard to play 90vpip and be over bluffing. You’re basically getting picked off pretty fast w that combo. I’ve noticed the whales that play 90vpip have somewhat of a backwards strat and will see a lot of flops and play somewhat decent post.

I honestly think this lack of respect for opponent post flop gets us in trouble. Just tighten up and 3b villain pre IMO.

Villain has too many combos of K and A high flushes.

In this spot when I have 3 clubs and a middling flush on turn, I actually want to be playing a 35-50vpip villain who will show up w way more Axxxx bluffs.

You have 3 clubs, but two of them you want in V hand (and two others on the Board). You're left with beating J/T and losing to A/K.

I'm pretty loose and I'm a little taken back at the 'raise Flop' comments multi-way. We have zero nut draws and not even a gutter yet. While TPTK is a very good way to get snapped off in NL, I'm not really seeing too many Players of any style continuing on this Board in PLO without 'us' having to improve and/or avoid the deck .. are we looking for folds?

I'm pretty sure when we take on maniacs we want them in a cage when the chips go in .. and there's a Player behind who could be sitting there with anything, allowing BB to run the show. Typically I'm all for variance, but I'm having trouble with this spot.

Sure you have to continue on the Turn since you're getting 2 to 1 in a 50/50 spot IMO .. and of course you put in the extra 20BB as well. GL

uhh when I have 700bb I tend to splash around more as Ive won some pots and dont mind gambling it up...Im taking his raise pre to be a missclick bc thats the most pointless size one could make it.

I'd say fold pre the first time, pot flop, dont raise riv
