Echoing fold pre. Don't mind betting or checking turn, but against a tricky guy who we cant really range well (yet) & can therefore make us fold, probably best to x back & play for showdown (and gives us river flexibility/opportunities as well).
As played, looks alot like JJxx/AKJ2/KK44, etc. our FD is worthless & our FH redraw is near worthless. Maybe he's bluffing, but hard to picture what with @ this point.
I agree w/ Java, think this defend pre is pretty wide even ds. - Hand looks much stronger than it is. Find hu but doesn't perform well multiway.
As played flop call seems standard. Don't want to deny yourself equity by raising then getting rejammed on and if he did rejam you're hand performs very poorly spr 8 against sets. Even though he seems very spewy given description he's still firing multiway so, in theory, should be somewhat strong. You also block AA/KK and diamonds which leaves JJ likely in his lead range. If you had bdfd could get more behind raising but still not a fan. Easy just flat.
Turn - I check for following reasons: You unfortunately block too much (AA/KK and diamonds) which are candidates to get thin value from (doubt even spewy player continues w/ QQ often). Because your hand needs no protection but you're also blocking what you can get value from AND unblocking hands that can stack you (JJ likely in his range since you block AA/KK), better to check. Now if you didn't block KK and/or diamonds would be more of a reason to lead turn. In fact unblocking diamonds turn should be a lead imo.
As played on turn definitely too strong to just fold but not loving it. River if he bombs I personally probably find a fold, again for same reason I block his bluff range and don't block value.
I think I just stay under-repped and check Turn, letting him barrel River and then evaluate if we can/want to raise. It's nice having A2 but I agree we hold a lot of the drawing type of cards into this board that suggest V is betting for value.
What does the 1/2 pot mean from this V? That would go into my thoughts as well. Not a lot of 1/2 pot bets at my tables.
I would also 3b this holding on occasion as well, which allows me to barrel this Flop almost every time. GL
I think against described villain (at least in my games) I'm 3-betting this almost always. Hand is pretty easy to play against a lag in lower SPR spots and having blockers to aaxx and kkxx make facing a 4-bet less likely.
