villain is more of a msnl reg and is running at 22/16/5agr over 180 hands

a few orbits before this he 4bet me in a COvBTN scenario and I had to fold a paired flop

he probably sees me as laggy pre

BTN ($394)

Dealt to Hero J 4 K K

fold, CO calls $4, BTN raises to $18, Hero calls $16, fold, fold

Hero checks, BTN bets $30, Hero calls $30

TURN ($104) K 3 7 5

Hero checks, BTN bets $86, Hero calls $86

Raise the flop, price in all draws. I'm guessing you lost this hand though, as you posted it, so the villain must have had 46.

I really dislike slow playing big sets in omaha. It's not like holdem where you want to trap; in omaha you want to get draws to go in with a lower win percentage than yours.

One last thing, if you raise the flop, I doubt he calls with the gutter unless he has another set or a massive wrap to go with it, so you did bring it upon yourself. He's not stacking off on a turn with bare AAxx or AKxx.

Its a fine line for you to take. However, it is somewhat transparent to better players on this kind of rainbow board, that you could be slowplaying top set. Overall, I would do it to balance a range where you are frequently calling on flop and turn. If you are c/r flop a good bit, then just c/r with this hand too.

its a good flop to bluff c/r and I def prefer a c/r here as well. if he sees you as laggy preflop he might think you will 3-bet KKxx the very most of the time as well and misread your hand and do something stupid. also, even if the board is dry its much more dangereous than 28Kr or 27Kr for example where he cannot have direct outs.

betting out something on the flop is an option too.

I like it, think he's even value owning himself a decent amount, here.
Between that and three barrel bluffs given the nature of the board and his tendencies, you're always going to have to call that river the way you played it.

Nothing wrong with folding such crappy KKxx PF OOP, imo.

And yeah, lol @ "price in all draws". What draws? If this is too wet a flop to slowplay, you're in trouble.

This, but it's a very standard fold pre imo.

I agree with the preflop fold.

I take your line c/c c/c c/hate life line quiet a bit as well. And I must say that this is very transparent to good players thus increasing their 3 barrel %. I think for the sake of not being exploited against a good reg I'd call this river.

wat?

OP's question is obv about the line, not whether to fold the river.

How does a good player think you're folding top set on that river and tries to exploit that by 3 barreling into the 2nd nuts? Are you serious?

to those saying fold pre, a bad player limped the CO and ended up folding... I think the call is standard expecting this to go multiway with a fish

I like a c/r on the flop as well. But as played is fine too imo.

With 77 I would like a c/r on the flop more bc it will be easier for your opponent to have something i.e- AAxx or AKxx that may consider calling, but here you have strangled the deck, and unless you are c/r all the time then it's a simple fold for your opponent with all hands. Also given your opponents style, its likely that he will think he has priced himself in on a lot of turn cards when he bets just to realize he is drawing dead or to 20%.
