i mean, I play some 2/5 and 2/4 online but mainly low, but i'd prefer actually pros opinions. i'm currently dead when i take shots at 2/4-2/5 with 4-5k stacks 50 bb/4 tabling. do you have to be on some phil ivey next level **** to compete with these regs? i don't see fish when i stalk their tables. i see some 50bbs.. but their short stack games all seem solid, the majority. it isn't 1/2, that's for sure. with the limited tables at 2/4 and up, i assume this task won't be completed by me. lol

I doubt you can beat any online level above PLO200 today without hard work, the right pokertalent and the right mindset...There was a time 8,9 years ago, I have watched a video from MagicNinja playing PLO400/600 at Stars and he was crushing it. At this time there were many fish and bad players out there. But today the edges getting smaller and smaller and you have to put a lot of study. Study your stats and your opponents stats to win something from the cake. But thats not enough.Even if you get one day to the point you could beat the game at PLO200 or 400 for some amount of money say 5k to 10k/months you have to put hard work in your mindset as well to stay at the same level and to develop your skills to move forward the whole time..Poker world is a dynamic system and if you stagnate you will fall back
And if you can't play your A game everytime because of tilting or somethings else, you will be losing, because the games are so tough. Tue game not allow you to make many mistakes..
I mean there will still be some guys out there, who can beat the games however. Doesn't matter how hard it is. But these guys are poker genuis and put always hard work. The majority of the 'normal' players will not be able to do it...They just have no chance and if anybody is telling you the opposite, he just want tell you a lie or he want tell you, you have to enjoy his game as a fish to lose money to him..
I stopped playing poker for living 5 years ago and I couldn't beat PLO100 and I try it countless times. I just have not the right mindset to do it....But anyway I found a day job, good salary less stress. I play live PLO today just for fun and enjoy the soft live games..there are still soft, like online ten years ago.
There is always a way to get happy in your life without try to accomplish somethings that is beyond your limitation.

Martin please stop! Good players will always beat PLO200/400/500. Of course its way harder because of this nonsense thats going on atm but its still totally doable. You just think that because you couldn`t do it. My guess is that you just didn`t work on your game hard enough.

Games are beatable but don't underestimate how much hard work and commitment you need to get to the level necessary to grind out a nice living from these games.

Just out of interest, what would be the love stakes where you find the relatively skill level of PLO 500?

From what I remember when I played some 500PLO on stars the good winning regs played a lot tougher than a lot of people I've encountered as high as 5kPLO live

That was either a really soft plo500 online or really tough 5k live. From my experience, most winnig! live players couldn’t beat any stakes online. Of course, at 5k maybe there are a few but only because they used to or still play plo online.

Anyways, what’s the bb/100 rake at plo100, 200, 400 at stars? Is there any rakeback nowadays? I’m originally European, living in the Us for the last few years. I’m going back home for a few witner months. Figured it’s worth donating a couple K on stars just for practice, but if the rake is insane and it all goes to Amaya I’d rather skip. Is 888 any better? Thanks

In the games I play all of the winningest players have an online background, the biggest losers have pretty minimal online experience.

I doubt 50 bb deep plo is any more difficult (to an average nerd) than 20 bb deep nlh. Other than that, I suspect the 400 and 600 games are the best games to good players. Although in plo, players prefer 200, there not being as many players as in nlh to support a larger player pool for 400 and 600.
