9 handed live 10-25 plo hand from a couple nights ago. Hero is up 30k and covers the table. V1 is stuck a few k and has 3500 stack. V2 is up 15k and has ~19-20k stack. Could elaborate on each player, the game, and such but im just going to give the hand details.
7 limpers to hero in bb with AAK2ss, hero raises to 200, 3 callers. Pot 900 going to the flop.
Flop A67ss, hero bets 900, V1 calls, V2 calls. Pot 3600 going to the turn.
Turn Kx, hero bets 3600, v1 calls all in for 2400, v2 calls 3600 with 15.3k left behind. Pot 13,200 going to the river.
River Tx, hero...?
What do you guys think? Check to open up bluffs to bet? Bet small for value and fold to a raise? Bet big for value? I know more info about the V2 would help answer this question, but im looking for a general way to approach this spot and not tailor it to a specific opponent.
Definitely check. Most of the time one of the two players will have a straight anyway with both of them calling PSBs on both streets. If you do bet small, you’re just bloating the side pot and encouraging someone to bluff you. If you check, maybe occasionally against an aggro player, you can make a soul read and call, but check/fold is definitely a good standard plan.
Wait I just saw you have nut spades too? If you have nut spades blocked, it’s REALLY likely you’re up against a straight. Just check/fold unless he goes crazy small.
