Don't want Peyton. Would be thrilled with RG3.

GSJ, are you saying don't draft Barkley b/c he's a USC quarterback?

I just think the level of talent around him needs to be considered when you're measuring his potential in the NFL. I was at the USC vs UCLA game. I was really excited to see him and you would think I'd have come away impressed because he had some gaudy stats, but I wasn't. A lot of his passes were behind the line of scrimmage where the receivers (who are awesome, btw) would make one cut and go 40 yards. The one long pass I remember, his receiver beat his man in single coverage and Barkley rolled out to his right and threw the ball probably 45 yards, but the ball was behind the receiver and he had to adjust. He had some decent passes in the 10-15 yards range, hitting his receiver with strikes near the sidelines and his touch on the slant passes looked nice however.

His size and his arm just didn't wow me, but admittedly I haven't watched a lot of his other games. I do think these USC guys (Leinhart, Sanchez) get overrated though because they have such studs playing around them. I don't know if that helps or hurts their growth.

I would take RG3 over Barkley any day, but I probably don't know what I'm talking about.

Ugh, please don't settle for Landry Jones.

Don't reach for a QB. If he's not there, then he's not there. I would love to end up with RG3 but it's probably not gonna happen. This team still needs a lot of help. It needs another stud O-lineman, a game changing WR, a corner and another LB. A QB is an obvious need but you can't ruin the rebuilding process just to get one high in the draft, IMO.

The problem is our current draft slot means we miss out at the top player at every single one of these positions. WR? Blackmon will be gone imo. Best o-lineman in the draft Kalil will go 2 or 3. Kirkpatrick prolly best cb, he SHOULD be there but idk.

Idk, really ****ty draft position now. I really hope as brendoh said they don't reach for Landry Jones but they might. I'd rather take a 2nd round QB like Kirk Cousins instead of taking Jones, but really sucks missing out on one of the elite guys this class.

cliffs: fuuuuuuu Barkley

+1

how the **** do we crush the giants then lose to a really terrible vikings team (who lose their qb and a-pete during the gm)?

i dont think shanny is the kind of guy to reach, especialy for a qb. i think if his guy isnt there he prob trades down. its not like we are 1 player away. wr is just about as big of a need. we've gotten a lot of mileage out of moss, but someone needs to step in as the #1 - its time. is hankerson capable? niles paul hasnt seen the field much, but i saw him a bit in college, and he has below avg hands. he's almost certainly not the answer - maybe not even as a top-4 wr.

I think they should take Landry Jones. If he doesn't work out just cut him next year. The hit is not as big as it used to be. We have to get a QB. If they don't take Jones they should trade down but we are going to suck until we get a QB.

Cutting Landry Jones after one season may not hurt that bad financially but cutting bait on a top-8 pick sucks big time--the guy taken with that pick should be a starter for at least ten years .

I don't want to pick Jones. Either move up for Luck or RG3 (hope the Rams end up with the #1 pick by losing to the 49ers while the Colts beat the Jaguars) or trade down. I hate to say it but we may have to roll with Sexy Rexy again and just grin and bear it.

Landry Jones is going back to Oklahoma

guess we have to trade up for RG3/Luck or be stuck with Rex for next season

Landry Jones seems to be seeing his stock falling. Not sure if it was a good idea to come back to school or just cut his losses. Kiper still had him in the top 15 of potential draft prospects.

Wha? Why are you ignoring free agency and Matt Flynn?

Browns seem like they will trade their 2 1sts this year and maybe even a 2nd next year to move up 2 spots and take RG3. Redskins would have to give up even more to move up meaning that likely wont happen. Sooo, matt flynn, peyton, or sexy rexy looking like the main options. I'd still love to trade back from 6 if possible and take the BPA.

Flynn until the Redskins get another qb in the draft?

The Redskins have way too many needs to give up several present and future picks imo.

I haven't heard anything about what the Browns are willing to deal. Not to say they won't, not to say they aren't interested but there seem to be more reports out there about the Skins offering multiple picks (including firsts) to get up and grab him.

I'd say it's 55/45 that the Browns get him over the Skins because the Rams can get a boatload of picks and still get a chance to draft Blackmon at #4. Still, you'd be crazy to count the Skins out of it.

I'm on record ITT stating you do whatever you have to do to jump up and grab this guy. I think he's the real thing and I want a reason to be excited about this team again. Morris Claiborne is not going to do that for me though he might turn out to be great. Not to say I know what I'm talking about, but I can't help liking what I've seen from RG3.

There are ~2 QBs every single draft that people just have to have. Doesn't make sense to sell completely out to get one of the price isn't right and some pretty good QBs have slipped by people before. Just last year Andy Dalton went at the bottom of the 2nd and had a pretty respectable rookie year. A Landry Jones might not be such a terrible option.

Skins only have like a billion cap dollars to spend, it'd be just well to sign Flynn and draft a guy as well if the opportunity isn't there for RG3. I'm sure they have more than 2 QBs on their board. Maybe give some thought to trading the 2nd rounder to some **** team for a 2013 1st rounder to get a better shot at Barkley or whoever the flavor of the week is next year if things look bad this year.

I can appreciate what you're saying, but I'm sorry, the Skins have wasted 20 seasons with mostly B.S. QBs. You win in this league by scoring points and having a QB make plays. This guy can help you do that and can probably make everyone else around him (Paul, Hankerson, Davis, Helu) better. This guy has IT. I don't want to go from 5-11 to 9-7 with Matt Flynn, I want to get back to the Super Bowl and back to respectability and I think RG3 does that.

Having said that, if they don't get him....and it's still unlikely they do, they're still in a good position to draft BPA and add through FA. I think the days of sucking are probably a thing of the past, they're gonna turn the corner. Just no Manning....please god no more broken down has-beens (and I love Peyton, just don't want him here).
