so ga is ranked 6th overall in the coaches poll, 3rd in the sec. sec has 5 teams in the top 10, and 7 in the top 25.

we also have a fairly easy schedule this year, we play @ #9 south carolina oct 6th, #23 florida oct 27th, and @ #25 auburn nov 10th. other notable games include @ missouri sept 8th in their "welcome to the sec" game, and we close with tech nov 24th.

yeah i don't wanna jinx us, but it looks to me like we have a tough game against spurrier in sc, then hopefully if we can win that, we can get to the sec championship game undefeated. wouldn't be surprised if that game is #1 vs #2 if we make it there undefeated.

the east is ours to lose this year imo, hopefully we can run the table, and parlay it into a national championship.

still a lot of question marks with this team. The oline worries me and the suspensions on defense are pretty annoying. If we can just get past Missouri and get everyone back things will be lookin real good. SC won't be easy tho.

oh and don't forget the freshmen kicker and punter. that could be interesting.

The Dawgs are going to miss Crowell's talent, if not his attitude. They got depth let's hope somebody steps up and takes the starting position by the throat.

Season starts in less than 2 weeks and I am counting the minutes down! I dont think Crowell will be that huge of a loss, he spent most of the 2nd half of the season down with that ankle, and wasnt the strongest of runners. Samuel should have had the starting job over him last year

I strongly disagree with that. In 82 attempts Samuel had a 2.9 average, Crowell had 4.6 in 185 attempts. Huge difference.

But I do agree that Crowell won't be missed that badly. Their depth at RB is good.

I agree with you about the yards avg, but you have to look at the way they were used. Crowell was the go to guy, and Samuel was the one they put in when they needed a couple of power yards. Crowell also had more than twice the carries as Samuel. Look at the Florida game and you will see that Samuel is more than capable of holding down the tail back posistion

Moving onto QB, Murray is going to be in the heisman race this year. I am expecting HUGE things from him this season. I just hope he choses to stick it out for a senior season after this year is over

Pretty mediocre week one performance. Loved Gurley obviously, rest of the offense was patchy but didn't look fatally flawed. D was obviously pretty bad all around. Suspensions in the secondary plus Mitchell's injury are killing us. The Rambo and Tree suspensions are the most tilt-inducing.

Oh well, we're among half a dozen teams with mediocre week 1 showings (Oklahoma, Florida, Carolina, Wisconsin). Good thing we didn't open against Missouri.

I think we're fine. We didn't want to show all of our defensive schemes and let Mizzou see us at our best. See who's really injured, etc. The defense will be better and ready to go next week. I'm less worried about next week than I was before the season.

Murray overthrew a couple passes on open receivers. He's gotta get his touch down and he'll be ok. Next weekend should be fun. ESPN 7:45.

A couple? Maybe in Utah. I haven't seen that many overthrown passes since Quincy Carter.

That being said, I'm nervous/excited for next week. REALLY hope Malcolm Mitchell gets his ankle in shape, that the defense wakes the **** up, and hope Murray can settle down some.

Saturday is going to be so fun. I can't wait. Can't believe we are only 2 point favorites. Hmmmm, might have to load up.

Are you going to the game?

I'm prolly going up to GA Theatre to watch it on their huge screen and get rowdy. Second to being at the game, this is the best gameday experience I've ever had.

Nah not making it up to Mizzou. I'm actually in Atlanta these days anyways. Going to watch it with a group of friends at my buddy's place in Midtown. Just so excited for some real college football.

I've never watched a game at Ga Theatre as I always went to the games as a student and the one year I lived in Athens and was not a student it was under construction from the fire. I've heard it's a blast, though.

Going to be up for the game on the 15th. Can't believe it's a night game considering the opponent, but it should be a good time. I've got tickets for Music Midtown on the 22nd so will probably stay in Atlanta.

Guess I could have gone to the Ga Theatre for the away games as a student, but for some reason never did. We used to always just have parties at our house and watch the game there.

Ya, I was in Redcoats for a few years, so usually the only game I could watch purely as a fan would be the games that they didn't send the full band to. It's a blast though. "Tailgate" at various bars and then stumble your way to the Theatre for kickoff. Highly recommended if you're ever in town for an away game or don't have tickets.

Speaking of Redcoats, saw this at the UGA bookstore today. Where's my royalty $$, Nike?

How many years have you been in Athens? One of my friends did 5.5 years for the degree then another 1.5 years after to party for a total of 7 years for one undergrad degree. You got that beat?

I've got friends who have been there for 10 years and counting.

Going back tomorrow to see some friends, actually. Going to Athens is always an awesome experience. I've never seen a college town that can compare.

I graduated HS in 2004. I originally started off as a vet-med major, then took 2 yrs off (after 2.5 yrs of study) when I got burned out to figure out what I wanted to do. Ended up working at a recording studio, loved it, came back as a music major. Most of my organic chemistry, biology, and animal science classes don't current count for **** toward my music degree.

I'm scheduled to graduate next December fwiw. Maybe after next summer if I cram a bunch of hours in.


edit -- I actually won't be in town this weekend b/c I have a gig just north of Atlanta, but in general, if anybody is coming to town for gameday or something, feel free to hit me up and I'd love to grab a drink or somethin
