Not even, he was sent to Buffalo to replace Hutch.

Hutch had a good year in AAA I'm surprised they gave up on him.

Eric longenhagen (fa graphs scouting guy, used to work w Phillies) calls both prospects future 40's, says both took steps backward this year. Ramirez was out of shape this spring and isn't good enough defensively for cf, but probably won't hit enough for a corner, and McGuire has 0 bat speed and won't hit enough to be anything more than a bad starter or backup. Somewhat disheartening

then it's even more disheartening that they're now considered our 4th and 5th best prospects

You don't get elite prospects for that kind of price. Maybe they hit a wall, maybe they rediscover some of their lost potential. Seems like a shot worth taking for not a huge investment.

Bullpen confirmed dead. Jays had to call up Bolsinger and Barnes and sent Goins and Schultz down.

Barnes seems to have real good stats in both AA and AAA this year so hopefully he is good.

Barnes looked good. Not that we can expect that to be consistent

I was a little puzzled at Barnes in the 8th, Grilli in the 9th, but it worked out nicely I suppose. Still thought Grilli should face the top of the order and then let Barnes go against Rasmus-Gomez-Reed if it came to that, but I guess ROLES.

The save is the worst stat to be introduced since pitcher W-L. There has to be a better way.

the better way is to put your best relievers in the highest leverage situations. Turns out Danny Barnes is the second coming, so GIBBY.

If we're so concerned with Sanchez' innings, why aren't we concerned with Stroman? He's already at a career high too.

This whole thing is so ******ed. It's time for 6 man rotations to become the norm so we can get on with life for a while. What's the point of having young pitchers if they can't even be starters for a while season? This Strasburg/Harvey/Sanchez stuff is ridiculous.

Even though it was 2014, Stroman already has a 166 IP season under his belt. The jump in workload to a full season of 32 starts and ~200 IP isn't that drastic of an increase.

Sanchez, on the other hand, has a career high IP of only 133.

Why do ip have to be such a problem? If they're in good physical condition and the mechanics stay good, they should be ok.

Same reason you can't just jump on a bench press and start cranking out 200 lb reps if your max is 100. Your body needs to build up to it.
