I was on a roll that day with the Halladay trade specualtion that turned into an item two days later.

Funny thing is two posts prior on the same day I asked if the Jays could buy out Ryan? Poof...he's gone.

I can't possibly see any other major league team giving him a shot. Guess he'll have to go home and sleep on his piles of cash.

It's the right move for the Jays though. Time to move on.
So how does this work. can he be picked up and the Jays on the hook for his salary (or most of it). With his release does he get the rest of his contract $, or just a high % of it? Anyone know the particulars here?

Does anyone else want to hurl whenever they see Kevin Millar batting cleanup? How many friggin' days off does Scott Rolen need? When Baltimore doesn't want you, that should be a pretty good sign.

All they had to do was play ~.500 from June to September to make it interesting.

It seems the only games we win are when we blow out the other team. Close game = we lose.

?

before that 10-game losing streak when the jays were 27-14 (may 18) you were 9-3 in 1-run games. now you're 11-14. not saying you aren't running bad right now, but you can't expect to keep that up.

Batting came back to earth last few weeks, and SP gotten a dose of reality.
Now only if they stop wasting LF for all these random AAAA scrubs, and bring Snider up so he can learn to mash to prepare for 2010.

We have had poor pitching in most of the games, and the two or three in the last 12 where we had gems, we lost two. As for the hitting, the timing has been awful.

We get 14 hits and 9 runs, and lose. We get 8 runs and lose. When we hold teams to only 3 runs, we lose. We have an 8-4 lead, and we lose. In extra innings, we lose. In one run games, we lose.

With the pitching we have now we deserve no better than a .500 record. However, this last stretch has seen some pretty bad variance combined with that pitching. Also, our hitting average has probably been fine. However, we you are losing the games in where you are putting up double digits in hits, and big numbers in runs, and then you get shut down when you hold teams to 3 or 4 runs, then you are pretty much running bad.

If you are looking for a prediction (because I have been lucky lately) here it is.

The Blue Jays will sweep the o's and win 10 of the next 12 just to give some FALSE hope for the WC chase, and this will put a pending Halladay trade in limbo. The Jays have a chance to move Halladay at his best value, and I'm betting a false run will screw that all up.

What's with Delucci (sp). At least play Bautista every day in LF if we have nobody else.

Apparently Scott Rolen to the Reds is a possibility.

I have no idea why the Jays would be looking to trade anybody. With all the injuries so far this year, and the (hopefully) underperforming Wells & Rios, don't they want to keep the team as good as possible, and hope they can stay healthy and make a run next year?

Isn't this all just the media freaking out over the Jays being .500, as if anybody thought they'd be better than that?

my prediction: jays will continue to play .500ish ball and finish in 4th. and halladay won't go anywhere.

Was at the game tonight, sitting right next to the bullpen. 3 drunk ass girls sit two rows in front of me, and start pounding liquor minis. They get to 99 Bananas and the one of em chugs it, chases, then starts puffing her cheeks up. I say to my brother "dude she's about to puke". She tries to chase it some more then leans to her left and hurls for about a minute. The ENTIRE Blue Jays bullpen (Brandon League in particular) is staring right at her with an "ewww" face on. I missed the entire 9th inning because I was watching that debacle. Pics to follow

At first she tried to put her hand over her mouth, but that only resulted in her getting vomit ALL OVER HER FACE. Then her friend gave her some receipts (yes store receipts) to wipe her face off. Well, that barely did anything, so this girl is acting like she removed all the rubbish from her face, but it still looks like she dove face first into a pool of ****.

First half over, Jays finish 44-46, good for 4th place in the division, 11 games back of Boston. Ugh.

Pedroia to miss the All-Star game, Hill is now the starting 2B. Whoopedy-doo.
