Yeah that seems farfetched.

Yeah so smoak probably isn't a 3 won player based on him definitely never being a 3 win player before. That kinda dicks the argument before it starts I guess.

I'm wondering if it was a move to get Hutch more starts at home and fewer on the road? Haven't looked at the schedule or anything, but that's the only thing I can think of other than it being his turn in the rotation.

For someone so hyped, you'd think he would have a K/9 > 6 in the minors, ugh

Hopefully its on purpose..

Or, it provides you with a way to defend your simplistic and illogical position that does not consider bench strength when considering position player WAR loss and pitching WAR gain.

Explain to me how trading a position player for pitching is a wash when we have "some" ability to offset WAR from the bench but "NO" ability to get +WAR from the bullpen. Is it your opinion that we have = amount of positional player replacement as we do pitching?

You did watch the game yesterday where our Loup and Tepera (combined -WAR) could not hold the lead and we lost, once again, by 1 run. This, after a good pitching start. And, our mighty offense did what it often does in tight, low scoring games.

Before you say lol sample size, this is what we have been doing all year. Lacking offence in tight games and losing opportunities with poor pitching. Yeah it is cool that we are piling up offensive stats and +run differential with 10-2 and 9-3, etc games. But we can win more games if give up some of the offence that is gaining runs but not value, for some pitching that cant prevent runs.

If you don't understand the non linear offence/pitching dynamic the Jays have, then at least admit that you are not qualified to be making statements about offense loss and pitching gain as being a wash.

was at the game today

was prohibitively hot... people were seeking relief everywhere any way they could get it.

many scantily clad women, both ones ud want to see and not so much.

it was funny to watch the side of the stadium with the shade gradually become more and more filled as people moved there, myself included.

I went to Canada day 3 or 4 years ago and it was like 37*. A cloud covered the sun for about 3 seconds in the 8th inning after 3 or so hours of serious heat and it sounded like ~half the crowd started clapping.

This convo isn't doing much to change the American perception that we're a bunch of eskimos.

I've actually taken the approach of being overly nice to ushers and ask to upgrade halfway through the game. Many have pointed out empty seats for me. It's a seasonal job and i doubt it pays too well, sometimes just being nice to them is all it takes

Not sure why Milwaukee would trade him, but I certainly don't mind that.

Agreed on both counts. Guess if MIL feels they're not competing in 16/17 it makes some sense, since he'll start getting expensive for 18 (if age doesn't catch up)

What is the point of starting Carrera in LF?

So what if he's a lefty. He has a .624 OPS and you're starting him over 2 guys that are .800+ Colabello even has a .832 OPS against righties.
