Wow, what an unlucky break that is.

Not sure how that's a "stupid" injury if you're referring to Saunders. It's easy to miss a sprinkler if the grass is even remotely long.

Not stupid on his part, just dumb luck to have suck a weird freak accident. Now, "tripped on a sprinkler" isn't nearly as bad as "fell into a glass table while having a nightmare about spiders", but for ways to miss half a season, it's up there.

Why do we think Sanchez will be bad this year? Don't rookie pitchers have awesome seasons all the time for a couple years before flaming out?

Sanchez was unbelievably lucky last year(157 babip), plus has a history of control problems in the minors. Yea he throws a fastball hard, but he has no clue where it is going, and doesn't get any swinging strikes.

He might be good in the future, but the odds are he wont be anything besides average at best this year imo. Most of the prediction systems from fangraphs, baseball prospectus don't think he will be any good as well.
