What is this now, year 9 of Ricciardi's 5-year plan? Hell, even JFJ didn't get this many second chances. Shows you how much Toronto really cares about the Jays...so sad, because 15-20 years ago, T.O. was a baseball-mad city.
So true. At least MLB doesn't have a cap for him to have screwed up, too.

Sorry about the beer misinformation. I heard it was Monday on the radio.

i just wanted to pop in and say my biggest season-long bet is Toronto Under/80.5 wins.

i have no reason to hate on any blue jay fan, but i sincerely hope you win 79.

p.s. i'm sure i'll be back.

You bet on the 6th best team in the MLB last year to lose more than they would win?

Toronto is such a terrible sports city. There are like 3 actual Jays fans and everyone else just assumes a Jays game is a time to get out of control drunk and make an ass of yourself in public. While I have nothing against doing that, the fact that certain people think that is the purpose of going to a baseball game is a little disappointing.

Rankings of teams last year:
Tampa Bay
Boston
LAA
Chicago-Cubs
NYY
TOR
PHI

And that doesn't include that they improved incredibly under Cito and were probably in the top 3 or 4 the 2nd half of the season
Also they were tied for 3rd overall in expected # of wins.

Burnett is gone and McGowan and Marcum are possibly out for the year. Also Halladay could get dealt midseason. Also the Yankees and Red Sox improved a lot.

F the haters, we will have > 80 wins.

Just back from the game, it was ok, sorta a sleeper after verlander got smacked. The atmosphere wasn't as good as wbc canada vs usa imo.

Hopefully snider gets moved up to 5 or 6th spot fast.

Bob McCown on 590 today predicted the Jays would win 90-95 games this year, while I suggest mid to upper 80s is a more likely result.
McCown is known to be pretty hard on Toronto area teams and is usually considered to be the opposite of a homer

lol bigt are u sure about that? I listen to PTS alot on fan590, and McCown is the biggest JP hater in the city in terms of Media.

I didn't listen today bc I was at the game, but that's pretty shocking from him saying that, lol

Burnett was the Jays worst pitcher until about the 100 game mark of the season.

Unrelated(maybe related to Sabathia)- something I have noticed is that starting pitchers who throw sliders expecially really good ones do not last very long. They often come up really quickly and do really well initially and usually are unable to string together a bunch of good seasons in succession
