Ok, on the two (two) misplays that Rios has had so far tonight:

-The first one in the 3rd inning I think it was when he actually dove but it deflected left off the base of his glove. Is it just me or would he have *probably* made that catch had he gone flat out. I know that increases the chances of a triple but still.

-The second one when the royals were up 7-2 and he just kind of half-assedly (my word) reaches for it. Do you think he actually dives at it if the Jays aren't down 5 runs?

Not in his vocabulary.

No, he doesn't. Laziest ball player I have ever seen play for the Jays.

Can anyone else think of a Jay who honestly cared less than Rios? Raul Mondesi, maybe?

Junior Felix would say hey, but that would require effort. But I agree that Rios is frustrating to watch.

Maybe hes just trying to pull off a Tony Fernandez. Make everything look slow and easy...the difference is, Tony made the plays!

I dont know about Rios' personal situation...but I think its somewhat safe to assume hes Mr. New Money...and since becoming filthy rich, baseball has taken a back seat to his new lavish life. ("Mo Money, Mo Problems" - Michael Scott). Thats the case for many pro players...the Mogilny syndrome. Lets wait for his contract year to make a real run at a championship.

Isn't Rios known to be a pretty big partier, and hit's a lot of the clubs in T.O?

Whatever it is I wouldn't mind moving him down in the order. Move Wells to his natural 3 spot in the lineup. And put Lind, and Snider 4/5.

Not sure about this, but ive read in blue jays forums, and heard from friends how Marcum McGowan and Listch were club buddies who went out alot last year.

Not official yet, hopefully burres gets dfa'ed/sent to AAA after this game because he is a very bad pitcher, and coming in with him knowing you have a 5-6 run deficit sucks.

I'm not familiar with the Jays' farm system, who is that Cecil guy and is he better than ****ing Burres?

Well good for him then, but to be honest, I don't think he will last much longer then 2 or 3 starts until the injured guys come back.

Yes hes better then Burres, hes a 22 year old LHP 6'2'' 230, can throw 90-93fb, with a wicked slider, and soso changeup& curveball. He had pretty sick stats last year in A/AA/AAA.

But he has gotten murdered so far in AAA this year.

certainly possible. Maybe the Blue Jays should just do the Old Yeller on BJ Ryan, because he's finished

Yea BJ probably done for..

But Brett probably even knows that since we're so decimated pitching wise, thats why hes getting call now. The Jays wanted to control his arb clock, but had no other choice but to call him up now 6 weeks early.

The Jays would have probably called him in June or July if not for all these freakin SP injuries and Burres sucking.

Cecil has looked like he could be in the rotation right now, very good command of his stuff thus far especially his changeup. i imagine he probably would be in the rotation if not for service clock issues.
this was on Tuesday

wait a second, wait a god damn second. If Cecil is being called up, then why was it such a bad idea to call him up last week? Was Burres supposed to be awesome, but now that he's not awesome, it's cool to call up Cecil? ****.

bigeasy...

Burres was so effin bad so they called up Cecil ~6 weeks ahead of schedule.
Burres was god awful, and was supposed to be insurance incase of injuries, and he lived up to his past and potential which is giving up lots of runs.
