I like how the thread with the poll was up for approximately only 7 hours before it was closed and "decided" upon from 11 votes.

Not that I have anything against it, but the mods shouldnt act like they are leaving it up to the regs, and then closing it without most of them actually having the opportunity to read that thread and vote.

For the record, I was browsing 2+2 a little during the late afternoon but I hadn't even seen that thread til I got home just now, and that was only because I noticed this thread was the last one posted in from the main forum. I dont post here on the daily like I did during baseball season (Yankees ldo). I'm sure there are many others who might browse/post in the main forum daily, but not in STST daily.

Again, I have nothing against this decision but acting like most people had a choice when the original thread was only up for a few hours is LOLworthy.

edit: original thread had 100+ views, but only ~10 votes
I feel like almost every thread has 10-1 ratio of views to posts. Not that I'm saying it still wouldn't have been voted in, but seeing how the threads look is definitely a difference maker to some people.

It's not really a big deal. Once the Jets win the Super Bowl I won't really care that much.

Also, the fact that the original thread only got "100+" views and wasn't allowed to get a significant amount, like say 500+, (I mean locked threads get more views than that) seems like this is something Clark wanted to do regardless of SE's opinion. Why even vote in the first place? But whatever.

Because even in Communist Russia people had to vote!

Spoiler:
But there was only one candidate

Well, I for one thought it was important to celebrate 40 years of Rip City. I guess 40 years does not mean dick, ICO.

Bring back single season threads.
Also add Fire Chilly to the Vikings thread title.

I agree that it should have been tabled for a few days until a clear consensus was reached. All I can figure is that C.la.rk saw that the vote was 10-1 or whatever and along with the posts in favor figured that to be an overwhelming endorsement of perma-threads. But the weekends are slower on 2+2 than weekdays - except SE, of course - so this should probably get some weekday exposure when the bored people at work browse.

Also, I basically have nothing to do with any of this aside from pointing out in the other thread that it's ridic how people get butt hurt by long threads.

Michigan thread is staying so I don't really care about whatever, although I do hate the "perma-season" part of the title. Anyway it's a solid anthology of pain of the last 3 years and I might edit it into an American classic.

I thin this thread should be renamed "New forum organization 09-10 season"

If the team threads are all being renamed, so should the forum.

What was:
Single-Team Season Threads

Should now be:
Single-Team Threads

This is seriously ****ing terrible. If you just wanted the years removed then why did you remove all of the other stuff? Worst decision ive seen in quite sometime. Why is 2p2 turning into our government?? Joke.

Do not like, even though it's gay to be superstitious or whatever I would like the fresh start in my single season team threads each year.

Can't believe it, but I agree with GREAARRR.

Easily one of the worst forum changing decisions I've seen in a while. You posted a link in a sticky asking people what they thought. I didn't even see it, and I read the forums obsessively. Most people were caught off guard by it. Also, this just seems like something we did just to... do something. There's really no upside here at all.

It's more difficult to find the threads now. They don't look unique anymore, which was one of the best parts of this forum. We had DETROIT TIGAAAAAAAAAAAAZ and "WORLD ****ING CHAMPIONS" and "HATERS GUNNA HATE"

Now we have

New York Giants
New York Yankees
New York Rangers
Boston Red Sox
Boston Bruins
Detroit Tigers

YA GUYS FORUM LOOKS AWESOME AND IS SO MUCH EASIER TO USE NOW. FORMALISTIC APPROACH FOR THE WIN

Plus, sports fans are very superstitious. Starting a new thread is a fresh start every year. Hell we in the Yankee thread talked strategy on WHO should start the thread.

And yes, I will post in this thread at least once a week bitching endlessly about it until it is changed back.

Can we have fun again?

I have no problem restoring the custom titles of the threads as they were more unique than vanilla, and unique is usually > vanilla. However, I have no opinion about the years vs. perma thing.

I don't understand why people have such a big deal with having a permanent thread. It's just complaining to complain.

Not to go against my fellow mod, but I'm about to go against my fellow mod here:

I think allowing fans to start new yearly threads is a good idea. People like the fresh start and renewed hope that a new thread brings. There are obviously people who feel much stronger about being able to start a new thread each year than the supporters of not having a new thread each year who are kinda just like yeah whatever who really needs new threads.

So I'm all for reconsidering this change and going back to yearly threads. Maybe Nash Head can pop in and spread some wisdom on this topic.

honestly, i wanted to start a new Michigan thread TODAY.

if there's ever a weekend for luck and new karma, it is this weekend.

and why couldn't a particular fanbase start a new thread, and just refuse to post in the old one? i mean, that's pretty restrictive, no?

the history/posts will be saved in the 'old' threads here..the only thing i see as a positive of *forcing* everyone to keep these threads is increasing SE's ppt average.

please tell me that isn't what this is all about.
