I know I sound like I'm blindly defending Drew and I do want to clarify things. I think Marshall should be playing more than he is currently. Something like a 50/50 split or even a 60/40 split for Drew would be better than now.
With that said, I will continue to feel that both this thread and IC blames Drew for everything that goes wrong with this team when he's simply one of several issues rather than the issue.
Also, FWIW Drew played extremely well last night. I think a decent amount of his problems are in his head so hopefully it's a step in the right direction.
But you are blindly defending him. There's been a college paper's worth of stats and information posted in here pointing to him being awful, and your only real support has been that he's a 'good defender' (which btw, is an ambiguous term often applied to players who suck but shouldn't) and had a good game versus a bad team.
I'm not trying to pile on you, I'm simply pointing out that everyone associated with UNC basketball should realize the onus on them is to correct glaring errors in rotation and team management. It shouldn't be 60/40 or 50/50. It should be Marshall starting and LD2 playing the role of a servicable back-up/8th or 9th man type. He's done nothing to show he's capable of playing with first units in the ACC and Marshall's upside is pretty apparant.
This would never ever happen in the NBA, and if it did, the coach/team would be ripped to shreds by fans/posters.
Drew deserves a much higher % of blame for UNC's failures over the last 2 years than any other player, so he's getting the most blame. Not to mention the PG is such a big role in this offense, and you can't be tentative/unskilled in UNC offense.
