92-70 would be a pretty damn good season in this division.

pirates are gunna pirates, could easily see like 17-2 or 16-3 vs the reds. splitting with the cubs/brewers or even a couple games under seems more than doable. we also get to beat up on the al central this year

I assume Cubs will right the ship. 92 wins is really aggressive.

Saw that Cards and Cubs had exact same record last year VS the rest of the league. The difference was solely head to head and the Cubs went 7-2 in 1-run games between the two teams.

If they were facing the east or west I'd probably agree. But as is, they have 4 games with the whitesox, 6 vs KC, and 3 vs detroit, and their games vs the indians are at home.

kicking the crap out of the reds (obviously doable) and CHW/KC/DET all seem doable. PIT won't be good. 40% of their games vs the rest of the NL will be against the Marlins/Giants/Padres/and whichever of Philly and ATL end up sucking. There are so many bad teams out there. 500 vs the good ones gets us to 92 easy

but yeah, mostly this. record vs the cubs this year determines the division

but also Flahrety, who seems like a much better option than wainwright already

Wainwright also just went 7 innings of 3 run ball. The problem is that is his ceiling at this point.

I think its a good idea to hold Flahrety off as long as possible and bring him up in August/Sept to give us a boost down the stretch. I don't know what his innings cap is this year.

Reyes should give the bullpen more depth down the stretch too.

Why would we not want the “boost” of our maybe second best pitcher for the entire season?

Like, if the FO wants to keep him the rhythm of a starter (as opposed to bullpen all year) and we gotta move one of the other dudes to the pen so be it.

Only because I'm not sure if he is on an innings cap. I haven't looked into it.

Should’ve swept the Mets, but I’ll take the series win. Have I mentioned that I ****ing love Tommy Pham?

874 players have hit 100 HRs in MLB history.

3 of them have done it in the last 5 games for the Cardinals, and a 4th will do it before the end of May (barring injury)

Gyorko, Carpenter, Fowler, and next I Ozuna

Yay, Dexter.

Also, I wonder how long it will be before I can think about Yadi without wincing.

Sweeping the Cubs feels so good. Watched last night’s game on a plan and nearly jumped out of my seat when Dex went yabbo.

playoff rotation of Martinez/Flaherty/Reyes/Weaver?

The fact that this team is winning right now with how bad their "best" guys are hitting and the injuries is crazy.

matheny manager of the year

lol don’t even joke about that.

Not sure why you’re sleeping on Wacha, he’s been great! Mikolas too.

It’s so obvious we should have a 6 man rotation once May 28 hits but there’s almost no chance we do it.

how did I forget about mikolas?!? Wacha is just kinda meh to me at this point, especially since every year it seems like he fades 2nd half...probably just a grass is always greener thing

I'm on board with the 6 man rotation but yeah 0. probably (hopefully?) skip a couple of starts for everyone but Martinez though

Yeah, I mean, we should be limiting innings for 4 of the 6, so it seems like a no brained. Hell, with Carlos currently laid up 5 of the 6.

Good series win. I would’ve been thrilled with a 32-25 record if I knew that Yadi and Carlos were going to miss the entire month.

RIP Alex Reyes.

Also, what are the odds that Carson Kelly ever gets 200 PA's in a year in a Cardinal uniform?
