I blame Reyes. I almost had to stop watching after he came in and threw four straight balls to Howard and then left the game. Who could have seen that coming....oh wait. I guess someone finally got my scouting report.

It's when the other team scores more runs than us. In poker it's called "variance."

lol at rick sutcliffe questioning why David Freese isn't bunting with Rasmus on second and nobody out and then suggesting it must be because TLR doesn't want to put that presure on him. Or maybe it's because it's the first inning and and Freese is slugging .547 with a .360 batting avg with 19 rbi.

And another waste of a quality start. That is 26 total on the season but only 19 wins, by far the largest gap in baseball. Shutout by the worst pitching team in baseball. Even the Reds are averaging more runs per game than the cards. Hell the entire NL west is better at scoring runs. How is this even possible?

Oh cool, we're anemic against the pirates staff now? That's nice guys.

Seriously, the offense has been pathetic in way too many games.

The most baffling part is that individually guys are doing fairly well. Five of eight starters have an OPS have .800+, no one else in the league can say that. Are Schumaker and Ryan clogging up the offense that much? Are they just that bad at hitting as a team with runners on base? I just don't see how three through seven in the order can be that good at racking up bases and yet so bad at scoring runs.

I think the fact that they're getting on base so well is an indication that there isn't really a problem. If they keep getting on base, the runs will come.

Oh good. Shut out last night so TLR sends out the D team for Wainwright today. Just score two runs please.

Ugly game. Now instead of just no run support for Penny they added no defense and no bullpen support.

Dropping opening games to the worst team in baseball?

Cool.

Don't tell me it'll be another season where we have a hot april and then play .500 ball for 4 months.

Good to see this team finally mustered up some runs when ****ing Lohse is pitching. I assume they'll get shutout or something for Carp. Nine runs from the the worst offensive team in baseball. Terrible.
