Not that it means much, but the cards got picked by several "experts" on ESPN picked the cards to make the playoffs/make it to the series.

LaRussa is a crazy bastard.

I love how the biggest story of spring was Schumaker moving to 2nd and now he's not even in the starting lineup. Somebody might be slipping magic mushrooms into TLR's coffee. Regardless, Carp and Waino stay healthy and we run away with this division. Pretty sure I'm the only person predicting 95 wins (my coffee tastes a little funny as well).

I got tix to Wednesday's game.

Buster Olney has Carpenter winning the Cy Young and Pujols winning the MVP but Cubs taking the division. Bunch of professors over there at ESPN.

Maholm vs. Wainwright

If the Cards don't sweep the Buccos they should forfeit their season.

I am pretty sure the Bucs had a better head to head record against them last year.

Sigh. Btw check out Skip's splits vs LHP and you'll understand why he didn't start today. Expect more of that.

On the plus side Pujols/Ludwick look great.

All I wanted out of this game was 0 blown saves.

Well Skip's splits aren't much worse than Duncan's. Not sure why we kept Rasmus up when he won't be seeing everyday ab's and we already have Duncan, Skip, and Ankiel has lefty batters in the OF. I'd much rather have seen him at AAA and another righty outfielder up.

1 game down, 161 to go. I think we have time to recover.

As soon as I got home from work, I fired up Gamecast and saw the 2-run lead with two outs in the 9th... and then saw the two baserunners and thought, "Oh god, don't start this so soon."

Wtf no bump for tonight? I was at the game. We got into a debate about what % of the city would birth Pujols' children. My buddy argued it was ~50%, I said plenty of men would also fall into the category and it was >60.

Also, Clutch Yadi one tiiiiiime? Triple was awesome, considering it took about 90 seconds. Good game, Lohse once again gets an easy win where he doesn't have to think (which we're gonna need a lot more of because he's not very good imo) and we really mashed.

Multi-hit game for Colby!

Yea i was there too but left early... ****ing freezing.

Wow @ ankiel's throw in the 1st... first time ive seen him make a throw like that live. It was perfect, but no way hes getting morgan especially with how cold it was. Offense looked pretty good tonight, good start for rasmus.

I would have but I'm studying and working on a paper so I didn't even get to watch tonight's game but I saw the box score just now. It looks like we did pretty well, and good to hear Ankiel is ready to go.

Love the line at the end of the article about Ankiel having one of the best arms in the spring. Granted the question was supposed to be about pitchers... Oh what might have been. Not that what we have is a bad thing.

I'm hoping Zach Duke turns it around against the Cards tonight; he's 0-4 in his last 5 against them. Probably not gonna happen though, especially if Cards hitters don't cool the hell off.

Wellemyer 3-0 in 5 starts against Buccos; 1.89 ERA.....

If I were a bettin' man (and I am), Cards -1.5 sounds like cha-ching to me.

I'd start a Pirates thread on my own, but it probably wouldn't go 2 posts without severe flamage.

I don't mind posting it. go to the cardinals website, click on the tickets, and enter the coupon code "college"... I'm a college student but I think if you print your own or anything you won't have a college ID to buy em, idk. worth a try lol. if you buy em at the ballpark I think you need the college ID, not so sure about online.

Just let me know if it works out. I never had to tell them I was a college student or anything....Although I'm picking them up at will call so we'll see.
