About as good a draw as SDSU could have hoped for. Assuming the Aztecs win their first ever NCAA tournament game I like the match up against either Penn St or Temple.

I'm not sure I like the matchup, but out of all the 8/9's, I like those two more than George Mason and unsure about Butler/ODU

One down, 5 to go. The first half was possibly the worst I've seen the Aztecs play all year. Run & gun, no discipline. They let N. Col dictate the tempo. Hopefully they will be more focused against Temple.

Quick trip report from yesterday: I was a little surprised at all the empty seats at the start of the game. Filled up about midway through the first half. Early start time and late arriving U of A and Duke fans I guess...The Aztec fans were awesome. I'd estimate about 12,000 SDSU fans, 4,000 U of A fans (almost all of whom appeared to be rooting for SDSU) and about 2,000 U Conn and Duke fans. The place was rocking and the atmosphere was great. College sports at its best...I thought most of the Aztec fans would leave after the loss but the place was packed for the start of the second game. Quite a few people did leave at half time of the second game...One bad thing about being at the game was we had no idea what the hell was going on regarding the second technical foul. There was a time out and then an announcement that the refs were looking at replay. After the time out they announce a technical foul on SDSU and U Conn shoots 2 free throws. WTF? At some point they showed a quick replay on the scoreboard but I missed it. My son said Kimba looked like a soccer player. I still haven't seen it...Biggest difference in the game was Walker knocking down 3's and SDSU missing some wide open 3's. Tapley was terribad. Leonard also didn't play that well. 2 early fouls (including another phantom 'T') didn't help since he missed a good part of the first half. No way he should even be thinking about the NBA right now...It was a great season for the Aztecs with a bunch of great memories.

Mojo I was in nosebleeds in Connecticut section. Lots of SDSU fans there.

We were directly behind the basket on the opposite end from where you were. About half way up. Almost all Aztec fans with some 'Zona fans mixed in. Not really any horrible seats at The Pond (it will always be The Pond to me, F the Honda Center). Some friends of mine were in the first row of the upper deck next to the U Conn fans. I went to sit with them between games and those seats were damn good.

Wow! What a game yesterday vs UNLV. My son was at the game and he said it was the most exciting game he has ever seen live. Viejas Arena was going nuts. I have to admit that UNLV appeared to have the better team but the Aztecs just found a way to win. Major props to Coach Fisher for the job he has done this year. Tapley the only returning starter but somehow the Aztecs are back in the top 25.

Franklin earned his man card yesterday

SDSU falls behind 10-0 to start the game and then proceed to punk the Lobos in the Pit as 11 point dogs (WTF?!). Aztecs dominated the second half and the final score was only as close as it was because UNM hit some 3's in the final minute.
