Nice to see the Aztecs hit their FT's down the stretch but they only had 1 FG in the last 10 minutes of the game. Thankfully UNLV was throwing up brick after brick or it would have been a different result. Even if SDSU runs the table I can't see them being a 1 seed. If they lose a game I think they'll be a 3, if they win out they'll be a 2.

That's what happens when an offensively challenged team like UNLV goes against a good defensive team like SDSU. They struggle to score. SDSU is like a better version of UNLV, both really good defenses but SDSU has more depth and better offense.

Well that sucked. You can't beat a team when they shoot 3's the way BYU did. Add in the fact that the Aztecs couldn't convert offensive rebounds into points and you get the result you deserve. At least the student section kept me rolling. The white shirts, ties and bicycle helmets were a good touch.

Yeah our finishing at the rim was subpar. Literally everytime we made a run they hit a 3. I'm curious how much confidence Abuou has (30% 3pt shooter) if he doesnt bank the first one in from the ****ing wing. He goes 4-5 total. Very frustrating game.

I know you're scared to play Michigan in the 2nd rd, but thinking a 2 seed is still in play for you is a tad far fetched.

If they win the conference tourney I think they'll be a #2. If not, a #3. They are either #6 or #7 in the major polls and #3 RPI. If they win out they won't drop in the rankings. Not sure why you think it a tad far fetched.

A ton of other teams with a better resume? By 'ton' do you mean 5-7? I realize polls and the RPI aren't the be all and end all but they are a factor. The site I've used for years has the Aztecs ranked #4 in their power ratings and has them getting a #2 seed. From the main site there are links to 6 other 'bracketologists'. 5 have SDSU getting a #2 and 1 has them getting a #3. Seven sites, only one has the Aztecs as low as a #3. But what do they know. They only live and breath this stuff. Really a moot point though. We'll find out Sunday. More important is for SDSU to stay focused and win the conference tournament.

if we beat BYU we'll move ahead of them certainly because they arent as good. That would put us top 3rd seed in that and we'll most likely move ahead of one more if we win tournament. trolls ghana troll.

Real worried about facing UNLV tonight. Rebels are hungry, on their home court, and need the win. Aztecs not so much. There was actually an article in the local paper suggesting that SDSU rest Leonard tonight after he tweaked his back last night. The writer said that the Aztecs are probably a #2 or #3 regardless of what happens so why should they risk an injury to their best player unless they thought they had a shot at a #1 (and we all know that is a tad far fetched

). FWIW, Coach Fisher said he is playing to win the conference tournament.

Your Mountain West Conference tournament champions: SDSU Aztecs!!!!

Billy White was tremendous and the team defense was outstanding (held Jimmer to 10 for 25 from the floor, the rest of the team was 9 for 34). Looking forward to being #2 in the West and playing in Tuscon. If they can pull out a couple of wins there it will be on to Anaheim and if all goes according to plan I'll be there too
