sanchez looking filthy early. pls no tremendous bad luck for jonathan this season.

i sort of had hopes of zito being league average after his second half last season but getting lit up by sd did not instill any confidence.

I thought Randy Johnson looked pretty good in start #1. Gave one up to his opposite number, whatever, **** happens. Today looks like when they picked up Steve Carlton.

Randy Newman playing in my ears as I start this post.

Tidy sombrero for FreeLew.

Nice to see Richie get a hit.

Edgar Rentaria deal looking better everyday.

When you're in a losing streak, you gotta be happy you have Barry Zito to go to to put a stop to it.

Just glad they're not in win now mode any more.

The good news is that they aren't as bad as they look.

The bad news is that it would be impossible to be as bad as they look.

ok i know i was bitching about using lincecum too much last year and maybe i'm being results oriented but let lincecum finish the freakin game. besides that lame bouncing ball hit he cruised in the eigth and was under 100 pitches. last year he throws him back out there with 110+ pitches. there's a happy middle ground here somewhere.

i hate bochy so much

I've never been a Bochy guy, but I can't criticize him given his current roster and the production he is getting. I wasn't surprised, it was the conventional move for April, I think, and he tends to do the conventional thing.

I've been happy the last two games were entertaining. The LA series, even the ones they were in, struck me as painful.

Oh man. I had a good idea what your post said before I opened it. The only thing I can think of is that Johnson pulled himself.

eta: The alternative, that when you have a plan like "Howry is my 8th inning guy and Wilson is my closer" that you stick to it-- is too disturbing to think about.

So Friday night (I think) the post-game show was done by Fleming. Tonight I think I heard, I was working with the radio on, that Damon Bruce got fired and that Fleming will do the fan talk-back after Giant's games.

Maybe I've got this wrong or part wrong, but I'm going to pretend I don't. I don't think it's a good sign that they are concerned that Damon Bruce is hurting the bottom line with negativity.

Damon Bruce is the man and I hope he didn't he get fired. I love Fleming for the games but I don't think he will be good on sportsphone

I just looked this up and it's only an extended version of the postgame show. If there's a day game, and during the offseason (presumably) Bruce will still be doing Sportsphone. I'm pretty ambivalent about whoever gets the nighttime spot because all anyone ever does is bitch and pull stories off the ESPN website.

It was funny that Krueger got fired and they replaced him with somebody that sounds just like him. I also like when Bruce goes off on a long rant that takes a whole segment to the point where he ends up repeating himself. That means no one's calling in.

yeah i think offTopic is right, last week I overheard Bruce McGowan talking with someone else in the box (Hal Ramey I think) and he said that Fleming had more postgame duties now

I wasn't clear. I meant to say he was fired from the post-game gig, not knbr. Thanks for straightening me out. If had known you were out there listening, I would have started calling in alternately as oddjob or offTopic from San Francisco.

Damon said last night that his check didn't get any smaller, so he didn't give a rats ass.

Wow. Where was Ken Dito when all this was going on?

Relevant to nothing, this never gets old, IMO.

I asked Damon about this.. he said :

"Lets just say ... I'm a bit more harsh in my assessment of this team than Dave will ever be ... and that's a big reason why."

Anyone have a link for last-night's show/Damon's first show since this decision?

sabean is an idiot.

there are gms in the league now that rival him in stupidity, like colletti.

and he actually made some pretty good moves this offseason.
