singletary said there is strong possibility that crabtree will replace morgan in the starting lineup on sunday, and morgan said that the decision has already been made. kind of strange that he isn't replacing bruce imo.

also pashos takes over as the full time rt while snyder will still be in a time share but with rachal at rg, who has been playing like ****. again, kind of strange imo because i thought they would go with wragge at rg.

weird stuff. i hope it helps the offense.

was screaming at halftime, but feel a whoooooooole lot better now that the game is over

pluses:
1. obv crabtree doin his thing despite no training camp and no practice until last week. damn impressive
2. vernon. been hating on him forever, but i will finally concede that he has arrived
3. the shaun hill experiment is finally over. alex smith will likely be given a grace period considering how good the colts are, and by the time he's run his course the season would be over and nate davis would get snaps before shaun hill does
4. alex smith. he looked so so so so so good. incredibly composed, making really smart decisions, he was awesome. i always thought he got a raw deal given he never had anything to work with, and even with a ****ty O-line, now we see what he's capable of with legitimate options to work with. i really think he can work out as a solid qb for the rest of the season

will see if Alex Smith continues performing at this level. If he does he has a job..........**** 3-3 now, although Zona should be 3-3 too after this week.

i guess we shut down Houston decently, first half O was LOL bad. and wtf is with the special teams TOs....driving me nuts.

arnaz battle has like three punt return fumbles and he's only had the job for two games now? three? cutting rossum was a big mistake imo. regardless, they cannot keep throwing battle out there.

smith to davis gave me wood, not gonna lie

singletary said in the press conference that he is undecided about which qb will start next week. i really really hope he's just saying that. there is absolutely no upside to starting hill.

to fill you in:

shaun hill was TERRIBLE

in his defense he wasn't getting much help from the o-line, but when he did throw, it sucked, every last one of them sucked. even his 20 yard pass to crabtree was comically wide and was only a catch cuz crabtree was sick

then there was that absurd 4th down favre-style pass he tried to throw while falling down @ the texans 35 which if the defender wasn't so shocked the ball was thrown right into his hands woulda been a pick-6

alex smith honestly had the best game of his career. the INT he threw was a 4th and 10 on the last play of the game, and the last drive was just absurd...delay of game cuz of josh morgan being out on the field, the 2nd delay of game when they still had a timeout left...GISHUGSIHGS

but smith looked fantastic, read his receivers well, used his running ability pretty well, his passes were just awesome, davis played most of the 2nd half in pain and still owned

if smith is given a legitimate shot to play and can stay healthy, who knows? maybe they can use both 1st rounders on o-linemen instead of goin for one of the QBs

i'm not sure the o-line problems were all on the line. hill has always had a pretty bad sack rate and they looked 1000x better with alex smith in. he was avoiding the rush, stepping up in the pocket, and got the ball out very fast (which used to be a huge problem for him). 0 sacks with smith in. amazing what can happen when the qb doesn't just hold the ball for 6 second every time he drops back.

well, pass pro at least. they still can't run block.

also rachal is ****ing awful.

Not sure who is available in FA or Draft but biggest needs still need to be addressed.

I would love some help on the OL. And pass rush. Also would love to get Eric Berry at safety......our rush D is good, or pass D is a little worse than rush. Our rush O sucks and will see how VD/Gore/Crab/A Smith works out. We better not waste a pick on a QB, that's my only wish. If A. Smith keeps playing like he did today (big f-in if, then we could be in good shape, if he doesn't..........I wouldn't mind see giving Nate a shot at the end of the season). Sigh about Hill, I was hoping he played better today but god the whole team was awful in the 1st half. Impressed by A. Smith and Vernon and also Crab. D played well in the 2nd half as well.

and this guy

on a serious note, w/ carolina being terrible, and hearing all this chatter about how great eric berry is i obviously wouldnt mind taking him. on a side note - what do you guys think about that big fella cody from 'bama, if we want to be a 3-4 team wouldnt a mountain like that be a great piece to build around too
San Francisco 49ers: Shaking Hands Too Hard Quote

Cody would be a good piece....problem is NTs are usually slow to develop and our NT (franklin) hasn't performed all that poorly this year. I wouldn't mind getting Cody, but I think it might be a luxury item right now.

pass rushing outside linebacker + guards

will we just let Lawson / Harylson go?

obviously would love a Ware type pass rusher or Harrison type.

Guards typically aren't drafted early. I'd rather go mid round guards and FA guards if any good are available.
