couple of those games could go either way, but if we are a playoff team we should

beat atlanta at home
beat houston on the road
beat the bears at home
beat green bay on the road

those 3 should all be great to watch

thank god that's over. now they just need to rebuild the interior of an offensive line that got absolutely raped the fuggin rams and the niners might have something resembling an offense here in a year or two.

ESPN is reporting 6 years 32 million with 17 million guaranteed for Crabtree....seems fair. Guaranteed is in line. Performance incentives put it higher than Raji. Atleast it isn't 40 which he doesn't deserve.

For prospective:

1. Matthew Stafford QB Detroit Signed 6 years, $72 million ($41.7M guaranteed)
2. Jason Smith OT St. Louis Signed 5 years, $61.775 million ($33M guaranteed)
3. Tyson Jackson DE Kansas City Signed 5 years, $57 million ($31M guaranteed)
4. Aaron Curry LB Seattle Signed 6 years, $60 million ($34M guaranteed)
5. Mark Sanchez QB N.Y. Jets Signed 5 years, $60 million ($28M guaranteed)
6. Andre Smith OT Cincinnati Signed 4 years, $26 million ($21M guaranteed)
7. Darrius Heyward-Bey WR Oakland Signed 5 years, $38.25 million ($23.5M guaranteed)
8. Eugene Monroe OT Jacksonville Signed 5 years, $35.4 million ($19.2M guaranteed)
9. B.J. Raji DT Green Bay Signed 5 years, $28.5 million ($18M guaranteed)
10. Michael Crabtree WR San Francisco Signed 6 years, money undisclosed
11. Aaron Maybin DE Buffalo Signed 5 years, $25 million ($15M guaranteed)
12. Knowshon Moreno RB Denver Signed 5 years, $23 million ($13M guaranteed)

what was he initially offered, is it much more then what he just signed for? ive been pretty skeptical about the whole thing and wondering if he was injured or had been doing something that would of shown up in a test

i gotta say, crabtree signing on the same day that the jets trade for edwards makes the tampering allegations seem very likely.

i doubt goodell punishes a big market team, though.

i'll say this about goodell, he has punished everyone for whatever wrongdoing. he hasn't discriminated yet. now the severity of the punishment could be lighter, but i imagine they'll get hit with a stripped pick (if any evidence comes up)

I was worried about this game all week, seemed like an obv trap/look ahead game, as does the Houston game.

But not a disaster. And ldo SEA & ARI both win. Time to regroup.

the reason why rodgers fell was because there werent any other teams that needed qbs that year.

i think smith was rushed, and its kind of sad..thats what happens tho when qbs are rushed into the nfl into really crappy spots. go down the list of teams that drafted qbs early and they became busts because the team has greater needs than qbs. its a long list..

however rodgers would also be successful anywhere he went, you can tell by his attitude. you might be right, he might have gotten killed behind the 9ers o-lines and other stuff like poor coaching, i dont really know, but that would be his only setback. but he would do everything in his powers to become a success in the nfl tho and eventually get there.

there are 2 people in wisconsin sports right now with attitudes bigger than the state, and you can tell they are both going to be great because they will do everything in their powers to get there. rodgers is one of them, the other is ryan braun. they both want to be legends.

Who knows. Rodgers also has the best receiving core in the league and a team that was geared for him to succeed. The only issue now is protection. I bet you, like most QBs, he would have failed in bad situations. If he came to the 9ers he would have failed. He probably would have failed going to the Raiders and a handful of other teams. He went into a great situation. He got to sit out 2 seasons and learn from a good HC who was focused on QBs. He dind't really get to know, but he got to watch Favre. He got Jennings, Driver, and others. Who knows if Rodgers would have succeeded elsewhere but it's pretty nieve to think he would have succeeded anywhere he went, your first job usually isn't as easy one as an NFL QB, but he got a much easier job than Smith got.

Smith was bound to fail. Spread QB, thrown into a fire mess his first year, had 3 different OCs and no protection and really no weapons other than Frank Gore for most of his tenure. The only difference is Rodgers wasn't a spread QB, but I doubt he succeeds under the same pressure that Smith was put under.

I don't even know what to say about Braun, but lol.

the thing that sucked the most for smith, right when he had that one year where he looked like he turned the corner.

norv turner left and more injuries.

smith was really given no shot to win in SF over his tenure as a starter. we can debate what would of happened all day long, but its really pointless.

one of the 9er message boards (49ers.com), wants to start either Alex Smith or Nate Davis soon after one bad game from Hill. My ears are on fire..............it's hilarious how some people feel that AS has a shot of doing any better than Hill. ND I think is still a long term project. Hill hasn't been pretty but overall I 'm not disappointed in his play. Last week was by far his worst performance as a 9er, but it's almost a typical AS performance back in the day.
