I wouldnt worry about going 2-2. Seems pretty much impossible we would lose to AZ or STL. Pitt at home should be a win and so should Sea away. Willis should be okay as well.

I think the only game I really want to win is vs Pittsburgh... besides that I don't care as long as the 2 seed is ours... I just want to be 100% healthy for the playoffs

This might be very bad:

"MaioccoCSN: 49ers CB Carlos Rogers is not practicing today for reason that will be disclosed around 4:45 p.m. Looked as if he had L knee wrapped."

3 Years I can deal with. We aren't going to get a better replacement at this point.

Rogers injury is not serious... I still love all the hate toward Smith. It is his first year in this system, he is only going to get better. 3 years is fine. I am surprised he doesn't demand more like 5 years.

I am pretty confident that the RZ offense will improve, as well as secondary once the playoff schemes are into play.

I really think Harbaugh and Co. have some awesome RZ plays and awesome blitz plays ready for January.

A. Smith is not a 11 million a year QB. 8 Million I could live with. He's a game manager not a game changer. I allow for the fact that this could be because Harbaraugh hasn't opened up the playbook completely but that how I feel atm.

QFT.

I've heard over the years announcers state the fact that Smith has had "four/five/six different OCs in as many seasons", and the analysts apologetically offer that fact as part reason for Smith's non success.

He has played solid this season and has above average stats (15TD/5INT/95PR), and although it seems he is not a QB to go out and outright win a big game 'by himself', can we do better than him?

Solid experienced QBs are scarce in today's market, and Smith may benefit from that fact.

Of course, if he has great playoff performances then that is all that will matter. We all hope.

Smith is better than just a game manager type QB. He is a solid QB, below the Elite level. I expect him to finish with 20-22 TD, 3000-3500 yards, 6-7 INT, 62-65 COMP%, a rating that is around 100.

Next year I will expect 30 TD, 4000 YDS, 10-12INT, 65+ COMP%, 110 RTG. He is good enough to post those stats. As the red zone offense falls in place, Smith should have a big year in 2012.

Something that most people don't know about Alex Smith is that he has TWO career INTs in the red zone.
The first one we were down 4 scores,
The last one we were up 23-0?

Go A Smith

He manages but at this point I would feel 100 percent fine with opening it up. You don't think smith could throw it up constantly at some good receivers and be just as good ad elite Eli. Nfl is so lol these days.

It is funny because this year Rodgers is crushing it, but yet Brees and Brady have more yards, Brees comp % is 0.2% less. Rodgers statistically might have the best year ever, but I will still take Marino in 84 over it because of how far and away Marino crushed everyone.

Stupid luckbox whisenhunt, stupid challenge, and stupid refs conspiring against the niners in the most absurd sequence of events ever.

Meh that whole sequence was just a bunch of flukey crap with the timing of the whistle and whatnot - the problem is this awful, awful red zone offense. There haven't been repercussions with the generally soft schedule recently, but these opportunities have to result in TDs against playoff teams. (Capt Obvious is obvious, but this is getting frustrating).
