game meant a lot in the WC race, difference in up 1 or up 2 games with 3 to play is pretty huge obv

Bullpen gonna bullpen, obviously know they played way over their heads last year but this team is more suited to play "Black Ball" than last. Good outing by Stauffer, lets gooooo

Awesome day at Petco today. Trevor comes out of the bullpen to 'Hell's Bells' to throw out the first pitch...Great weather...Awesome Kabob before the game...Padres win to shut up all the Giants fans around me...Harang pitches pretty damn well.

Just like last year I look at the Pads line up and wonder how the hell they are going to beat anybody but somehow they do. There are 2 things about them I like: if they have the lead after 6 they are almost golden and their defense is very good. Bartlett is a vacuum cleaner at SS and Maybin runs down everything in CF.

I worry about Gregerson, dont think he's going to hold up for some reason. I guess I expect 1-2-3 innings from him. They've def upgraded up the middle including Maybin. Also wish Buddy would have let Venable hit vs Bumgarner because Venable better not be platooning ffs. 1st Home Opener I miss in the 2000s

****ty season could have been a lot worse. Our bullpen needs help which I would have never thought I would admit. I'm not very hopeful about next year. Hundley/Headley are question marks. Not to mention Bartlett/Hudson jfc so many holes.

Anyway lets make this thread a Padres/Charger spot no?

mmm 4-1 looking really really bad. We really are missing Gates out there. 5 fgs yesterday. They could really be blowing these teams out but theyre settling for fgs.
