Minor league update: Phillies have some good starting pitching, and there's a lot to be excited about.

Jason Knapp, 18, strikes out 14 in his last outing. His stats on the year, at Lakewood (A ball)... 18.1 IP, 9H, 5BB, 30K. (1.96 ERA, 0.76 whip, 14.7 K/9)

Kyle Drabeck, 21, pitching at high A ball: 18.2 IP, 10H, 5BB, 26K. (0.96 ERA, 0.80 whip, 12.5 K/9)

Carlos Carrasco, 22, through 3 starts at AAA: 19IP, 14H, 1BB, 20K. (2.37 ERA, 0.79 whip, 9.5 K/9)

That really is something to be excited about, I heard LA talking about Carrasco's performance last night on the radio broadcast.

Carrasco is definitely something to be excited about. The others are still in A ball so its probably a little premature to get excited... esp with small sample sizes.

Any time an 18 year old, 6'5'' 2nd round pick is dominating like Knapp is, you can get excited. I am excited.

Dykstra's business: a bed of 'Nails'

A good article on Lenny Dykstra and basically what a POS the guy is to everyone in his life.(warning: its really long) The guy is a HUGE degen basically conning everyone he can into lending him $$$ and then not paying them back. The best part was convincing his mom to lend him $23k so he could charter a private jet to get back to his home in LA. lol

It sucks to be a Mets fan today, after the debacle yesterday. I watched the highlights/lowights, and I honestly couldn't stop laughing. I imagine it's getting to the point where Mets fans can't help but laugh at some of the stuff that happens. If I had any good friends who were Mets fans, I would almost feel bad for them, since Minyana has not shown an ability to build a sustainable team. Despite the super-strong nucleus of talent (Reyes, Wright, Beltran, Santana), half of which was homegrown and half bought, it's still a .500 team.

This post almost guarantees a 5 game win streak for you guys, so, you're welcome.

Sigh, came up just short.

I really love Matt Stairs a lot. He could strike out every at bat for the rest of his career and still all I'd remember him for is that bomb against LA. Good at bat in the ninth tonight too.

Decent outing from Blanton and the pen all things considered, just a shame we couldn't hit.

Good news everybody!

I am starting Dave Bush in my fantasy league tomorrow. Based on my other pitcher performances this should guarantee at least ten runs for the Phils (maybe I should trade for Johan, heh)

Well he isn't doing that great. We use K/BB and he is a measly 1.33. Whatever, at least I didn't sit him, lol.

Ya, I'd be much less worried about this game and much moreso about how Hamels is doing.

Yea I agree about the Hamels concerns, hopefully a shoulder contusion will not keep him out too long. He had a good start to the game to.

But if Bush wasnt dealing I dont know what is, the man had a no hitter into the 8th until Stairs went yard. In my H2H points league he probably put up alot of points.
