Coff, you are a fool. Of course he died of natural causes! Do you think he was poisoned, stabbed, shot, choked?

Also, the Ibanez deal was horrible and will be horrible no matter what he does on the field. That being said, I actually like Ibanez and have no problem cheering for him, which is a good thing. He busts his ass, and I can appreciate that.

Yes he does. Which is part of the reason why his signing was so goddam awful. At least he isnt a dbag to boot.

You are an absolute wacko. So according to you people can only die from chokings, stabbings, poisonings????? Apparently people cant die of a heart attack or some other random thing.

You guys just don't agree on what is a "natural cause." Most would consider heart failure in a person of advanced age as a natural cause of death. No need for the obscenities, Coff.

Sorry for the obscenities, I guess I should have phrased it differently or something. Maybe my question wasnt as clear as it seemed to me, obviously I was not asking if he was murdered, I mean come on.

Wikipedia

Its not a very well written article but I think it should be good enough for our purposes.

Ibanez!!! Wheeee. Satisfying win, and some redemption for Raul.

I know we didn't like the Ibanez move ITT, but in the first few games (ridiculously small sample size obv) he's been exceeding expectatons.

So were you one of the people who wanted Milton Bradley instead?

I thought it was a logical move tbh, obv he isnt the best but there wasnt many reasonable options.

I didn't have a super strong opinion either way, tbh.

I remember reading this thread when we made the move though. The consensus seemed to be that he doesn't play much defense, doesn't have much of an arm, we had paid him too much etc. etc.

I don't really know a lot about the financial/business side of baseball and so I tend to listen to the people who usually post here (stevie, enpassant, abreutime etc.) who seem as if they are pretty knowledgable.

Obviously I hope he wins the MVP andd proves to be the best signing the Phillies ever made.

Even if he wins the MVP he is still overpaid. When this prevents you from signing other players you could have desperately used (Ohman) than it is a problem.

Yea I was really dissapointed we couldnt get Ohman, at the same time I didnt want to have Jenkins of Stairs as a starting OF, pick your poison I guess.

Coff, neither would have been starting OF. Plenty of other options just as good (better) were available for less. Ibanez would have come down in price as well.
