Assuming I'm back in Philly, I will stay in the city the night before this year.
I'm a student at the University of Delaware and Septa goes through the Newark train station, so I worked it out that me and two buddies were going to go up. I was going to get on the train in Newark and they were going to get on the train's first stop (since Newark is the beginning of the line). However, when I got on the train, it was packed and I was starting to wonder how there would be room for them to get on at Delaware Park. Well, I was looking out the window and all of a sudden I see a bunch of people standing on a platform as we go speeding through at 55 MPH. About 2 seconds later I got a phone call, "Was that your train?" to which I respond, "Yep." So, I got into the city around 10 or so and saw the parade go by on Market St. I eventually got up with them that they were able to catch a train right around the time I got there, so I figured that I would just call them and meet them somewhere. Well, that proved to be a problem since 2 million people in the city ****ed up the cell phones. I eventually found them on S. Broad St. and we proceeded to some bar on South St. where patrons were serving the customers, since the owner was clueless that 2 million people would show up that day, so I was able to get served (win!). Even though I don't remember much after watching them celebrate at Citizens Bank Park, it was still a hell of lot of fun.
