This team is way exceeding expectations. Wow. Kapler should be NL Manager of the Year for sure.
At 2.5 up right now and a great schedule rest of the way it's definitely time to buy... with some lucky breaks this squad could win it all this year.
I'd rather add a bat than a SP though. Nola/Arietta is a top tier playoff combo. Work around that

And wow just like that Kilome gone for Asdrubal. I love the move!

It's hard not to get excited about the deal. It's not Manny, but replacing Kingery with a guy who is now arguably the team's second best hitter is pretty big. If Hoskins, Williams and Franco keep it up, this team could be dangerous.

I think the trade is fair, but I don’t like it.
Cabrera is for sure not their second best hitter. Herrera, Hoskins, Cesar, Santana are better and if you take the last month Williams is better as well.
Kilome has taken a step or two behind the other pitchers in the system and probably was at the point where he was projecting as a 7th/8th inning guy for the Phils. But, he still has some wicked stuff and could definitely enticed another team to someone better that Cabrera. I’m not going to be surprised,if the Mets trade away one of their front end studs, he is in their starting rotation this year.

Fans have been waiting several years because this was going to be the big off-season and now there is a chance they miss out on both Harper and Machado. After all the build up and spending "big, big money" comments... McCutchen can not be the only guy they sign.

Machado and Harper would be nice but I think I actually prefer the possibility of Harper, Kuechel and Kimbrel.
Replace one of those with Pollock and I'm still happy.
Having watched Machado his whole career, he is a great player but as much as he has grown as a player his ego has too.

Realmuto speeds up this timeline. Harper or Machado is now really critical.
Have to hope the pitching holds up, but this team is the favorite for the NL East, anything less is a disappointment.
A few years ago I remember watching Williamsport play and thought in 2019/2020-2029/2030 the Phillies are going to be perennial contenders. This trade makes that window shorter, but makes them a much better team right now.
