Ryan Howard is not good at fielding baseballs.

Winning when Kendrick and Blanton start makes me very happy.

Ditto.

But then, losing when Hamels and Halladay pitch gems makes me quite sad.

See, the Phils weren't having trouble scoring runs, they just knew they had to save them all up for yesterday. At least that's how I'm rationalizing it. Though I missed most of the fun last night as I was watching college football, but I did catch the grand slam.

That kid Lorenzo Cain just looked completely ridiculous trying to hit Cole's changeup.

So I switch over to the other team's announcers for the 4th-6th because I can't stand Sarge, and the Brewers TV just had a cute commercial showing Prince Fielder doing laundry, cleaning the bathroom, vacuuming, etc. and then it says, "Prince Fielder - The Ultimate Clean Up Hitter."

Bases ready....no outs....and they get nothing. Completely standard in a Cole start.

Our top 3 are such freaking bulldogs. Doc, Oswalt, Cole....good luck in the play-offs NL

Meanwhile Lidge is 9/10 saves and has a 0.73 in Aug/Sept....please please let that mean he "found it" again.

Cole should get a free round with the wife/girlfriend of each offensive player on the Phils this offseason. He's earned it, IMO.

Soooooo we have Oswalt, Doc, Cole....

Madson has a 0.87 ERA since Aug 1st and looks filthy

Lidge has a 0.67 ERA since Aug 1st

We are winning 12-11 and 1-0

is it ok to be giddy?

I think the scariest thing about Hamels' year so far is that he's getting better the longer it goes on. I mean he's just been filthy his last few starts, save the one which I'll chalk up to being a fluke. I don't know if he doesn't feel the pressure to be a #1 starter or what it is, but he seems to be back to his 2008 playoff form.

Now having said that I expect he'll go out and get shelled his next couple of starts.

I'm not suggesting he needs help pulling tail. I'm suggesting the players hitting for him ought to be ashamed of themselves and offer some of their lady-friends in appreciation/punishment.

We got Halladay on the mound tomorrow night while the braves are gonna be up against Josh Johnson in Florida... looking like a good opportunity to get back on top of the division :O

not exactly how you'd draw it up on a Halladay but way to keep it rolling.
