Also after reading the article on Hamels on phillies.com I'm excited to see how much he's improved after the work he put in in the offseason. Hopefully the curve and the new cutter serve him well. It also talked about how he's going to slow the game down to keep his nerves, which will probably be his biggest improvement if he sticks to it.

maybe the reward for terrible variance in 2009 is Hamels actually improving his true ability level in the offseason for 2010+. that would be pretty sweet imo

Ok, we have 9 people who have indicated that they want to play in the all Phillies fantasy baseball league, and they are listed below. My brother, whom also is a poker-playing Phillies fan will most likely be the 10th person. I'm on my phone until Fri (I can't PM), as such I am reaffirming here that I am in.

I've mentioned this via PM to a few posters in this thread but this week I've gotten rolling on this project in earnest: I'm helping put together a book on the Phillies with my old man. He did the Harry Kalas book last year and needs a fair amount of help on this one.

If you have any good/interesting/funny/weird stories involving you and the Phillies that youd' like to share please contact me and perhaps it can be included in the book (along with proper credit), the only real criteria being that it's interesting enough to be worth reading. All the initial interviews will probably be done by the end of this month, if not sooner. "Interview" could be nothing more than a story sent via e-mail which passes muster.

If this is considered spam I'll gladly take it down but I am not sure it qualifies. Also, I am reaching out to the various Phillies-related sites/blogs in the hopes of snaring some good stories via readers there too.
