To the Redskins, ugggghh.

Thought you guys would at least get him out of our division. Washington with McNabb is not going to be a cakewalk. Not that an NFL game ever is, but playing the Skins with JC as their QB sure made it easier.

I think there are 2 or 3 guys left from our SB year and they try to tell us we're not rebuilding

How many guys are left on the Patriots from that season? NFL teams are constantly in a state of rebuilding. That's what makes the past decade of Eagles football so special.

Lol at the Mcnabb Sporscenter montage this morning... Did anyone see it?

It ended with Trey Wingo telling Philly fans to be careful what they wish for.

That was absurd yes, but i have to admit i got a bit sappy watching the highlights from the zona game. the guy threw 4 tds with a broken leg, i remember that like yesterday. also that long scramble and bomb to fredex was so awesome vs dallas.

Yea I mean dont get me wrong, the man produced some of my most lasting Eagles memories, and the ride was a lot of fun...but something had to give.

Really sad to see Donny go, but I understand it. I would have liked to have gotten better compensation (it sucks to trade away your franchise QB and not be in position to get a blue-chipper in return), but it's not a terrible trade. I have no problem trading him in the division; if anything, it will be fun to face him twice a year. I don't think the defense would have been good enough this year to contend for the Super Bowl anyway, so it makes sense to get value for McNabb when we can. Hopefully that second rounder will turn into a valuable defensive player (possibly by using it to move up) that can help us contend this year.

I'm not going to lie, I know lots of people are very excited for the Kolb era, but, I'm really anxious. Honestly, I've never found Kolb to be a very likable guy (especially compared to Donovan), but I'm absolutely rooting for him to succeed (and succeed in big ways). He is a good fit for these receivers, so even though he'll probably never be as good as Donny, I think this offense can be just as dynamic and successful with Kolb at the helm. Let's hope it plays out that way and he can bring us a Super Bowl.

I've probably been overly tough in Kolb in the past. It's just that I find it scary to move on to a new era, considering the last era was the only successful era the Eagles have had in my lifetime. I really hope to eat my words on this one. Anyway, go Eagles, and go Kevin Kolb!

Edit: And the thing about Kolb not being very likable, that's not really fair on my part. He's always come across as kind of an asshat to me, but as the backup quarterback, it's not like he really had that much press. He was put into a strange situation. Pretty much the only press he got was when he was asked about being stuck behind McNabb, etc. I don't think he always handled it with complete class, but it's hard to expect a guy to in that situation. The guy just wanted to play.

The average age of those 12 players [that left this offseason]: 30.2 years old. The team has added six players, with an average age of 25.3 years. In fact, the Eagles now have the fewest position players in the league age 30 or older: one, defensive end Juqua Parker, who is 31. And the average age of the Eagles' prospective starters on offense is 24.

We won't make the playoffs this year. And although I could see them trading McNabb, trading him within the division was terrible IMO. I would have taken slightly less to ship him out of the division... or just keep him lol. We just took two fairly easy wins vs Washington with JC at QB and turned it into prob a split at best. Also, I think Reids playcalling was way more problematic than Mcnabbs inconsistency, I wish the Eagles could have dumped Reid for a guy like Shanahan. And I think the Sheldon Brown trade was even worse.

Yeah that was a weird year, they also tied the bengals that year lol.

Point is, they just made 2 games on their schedule MUCH tougher on themselves this year.

I had given up on #5 after the now final 2 games of his Philly career. I'm glad I don't have to try and talk myself into believing in him again.

As a sidenote, did anyone else hear the Skins offered Haynesworth for McNabb?

from what I've seen Kolb says what he thinks but it's hard to judge his personality at this point imo. tbh if we win games I don't care if he's an ass

So the 2004 Superbowl is on NFL Network right now. I'm looking for a single player that's still on the Eagles. Haven't seen one so far. Without looking it up, is the only one Akers?

I saw #97 on the D-Line and was like Bunkley was on that team? ... wait that's Darwin Walker, nevermind.

ETA: The only other players were backups in 2004. Mikell & Jackson.

ETA2: I think this is the first time I've watched this game since it happened.
