I want to see a new offense geared around Kolb's skill set.
presumably he was drafted to play in this system no? they will tweak it of course but they shouldn't need to change that much

I could be wrong, but I think he is mostly pointing out that McNabb was never a perfect fit for Reid's system, whereas Kolb pretty much is.

^^^ This. We sort of shoehorned Mcnabb into a system that demands accuracy (Every system obd demands accuracy but you know what I meant), Mcnabb's biggest weakness. Kolb should be a better fit for the system, but it of course remains to be seen how good Kolb actually is. I tend to be optimistic, but he's still unproven so it's certainly something of a gamble.

I dunno, guess we'll have to wait and see how it plays out
I would have been worse for us and the rest of the conference had we shipped him to Minnesota (if Favre decided to retire obv) or Arizona, hell even the 9ers.

I mean yea, 5 is gonna have it out for us when we match up but Im honestly not afraid of him at all....its our current defensive personnel that concerns me.

Wait and see, run good in a deep ass draft one time?

So what do teams do when they're planning an unusually sick draft, do they get extra scouts from the scout temp agency or something? Because if they have a bad draft with this much ammo going in...

I like how Dallas and Philly are getting younger as the Skins are getting older. What's their plan exactly? They're going to make a run at it this year?

Boooo.

This is ****ty just because McNabb is a better QB than Kolb, and the Eagles are no doubt rebuilding. There is no question about it, regardless of whatever Reid and company say.

I'd rather trade Reid and the picks back to Washington for Shanahan.

seriously? Reid has run awfully bad to not have 1 or 2 rings by now.

i think you're underestimating how difficult it is to win 1 or 2 rings

1) Thank god this ordeal is over.

2) I'm excited. Very excited. Really looking forward to this season. I feel like I dumped my girlfriend for someone younger, hotter and crazier in bed. Sure, she might be a head case and it could end badly... but it's exciting!

3) Kolb drops, looking, fires to Celek in the corner of the endzone, touchdown!!!

4) Who cares we traded him in the division? The Redskins suck my balls. Their offensive line is ghastly. McNabb is going to take an absurd amount of sacks and probably end up getting hurt because of it. Plus, it's not like Jason Campbell is that bad. If they're 4-12 with Campbell, they're 6-10 with McNabb. Throw in Shannahan and some better variance and they're 8-8. Who cares.

5) Dear lord let us draft well. I don't know if I want us to move up in the first round or keep all these picks. This draft will have a HUGE impact on the Kolb era.

Yes. Shanahan is the superior coach IMO and I'd snap call that deal.

Plus, I like his philosophy better. You know, where you don't throw the ball 70% of the time.

I think our throw philosophy will work better with a guy who can hit WRs more consistently.

but then there really are few/no significant changes required if mcnabb was trying to do stuff that wasn't suited to him right?

Meh. On the short routes, perhaps, but I'm confident that McNabb throws a better deep ball, and can extend and/or make plays with his feet when receivers are covered. So it's a trade off, IMO, that introduces a huge unknown where there once was a known, upper tier NFL player.

On the bright side, I have very low expectations, so perhaps I'll be pleasantly surprised.
