i really wonder what they are planning to do with vick. i guess its possible they trade him still, but after they pick up this 1.5 mil roster bonus i think they keep him.

Stacy Andrews also restructured his deal - taking about $2 mil less in 2010.

It looks like they plan on keeping Stacy. His base salary went from $2.95 million to $1.15 million after a restructure but for some reason they are fine with paying him his $4.1 million roster bonus. I'd imagine they wanna use Cole at center and try and plug Stacy at right guard. Could also be a sign they wanna focus on defense in the draft.

As I said, their releases wouldn't exactly be a surprise. It would just be sad to see them go after I thought they had so much promise to dominate the right side of the line at this time last year. I wish we could still get something out of them, but I know that's just being optimistic.

I don't think it's fair to clump Stacy in with Shawn quite yet.

It was only one year, coming off a major surgery and into a new system. I don't think he's a head case like Shawn.

I don't think he's a head case either... he was just really really bad last year. The guy went from training camp starter to backup to second backup.

Definitely like Buckley staying so far as a RB. Really like what I seen from him in the pre-season last year and limited playing times. Also, really wish Gocong would stick around

Marlin Jackson signed to a 2-year deal - pretty standard Eagles type move, should provide depth in the secondary - decent upside.

A couple of articles are suggesting he'll play safety.

He was a first round pick, maybe he can do something.

Im still surprised they let Aaron Kampman sign with the Jags. Its puts a damper on their efforts to sign every player in the league coming off an ACL tear.

Buckley was outstanding on special teams (at least, I thought so) so I would definitely expect him to stick around.

I think he can get some more playing time this year depending on the draft now. Even though they signed Weaver, I think Buckley is still a punishing back, and with Jones and Chester off the market not sure where they will go for a RB

This.

It really disappointed me, I really thought he was a guy that would fit in real well on the other side of this line...

Im not very impressed with this Marlin Jackson signing, I guess he could be an upgrade over what we have but only by a little.

Just listen to 610wip.com on your laptop or something coff. That's probably the best way to stay tuned in on what's going on anyway.

That's one of the better FA signings this offseason. $6m for two years, and some of that is incentive based?

He's got an awful injury history and they want to make him a safety, but I'd take that gamble all day long. The guy is 26 and might still have a lot of that 1st-rounder upside, and corners and safeties cost crazy money anymore. Doctors are pretty good at fixing up ACLs and MCLs now.

I didn't even know he was out there, seems like a real smart signing to me. Worst case scenario Iggles are throwing away a few million. Risk/reward factor there is pretty awesome.

Word on the street is Justin Fargas and our boy Hank Baskett will be in town for a visit.

I approve of a possible Fargas signing, but why baskett?

yah, the Jackson signing is great. Only 2 Mill for the first year, and he could be a very good starter. I'll be a little uncomfortable if he is the only other competition at FS, since we don't know what to expect.

Just don't put him on the hands team imo.

Yep. I'm fine with bringing Baskett back. We're not going to bring in somebody to play over Jackson, Maclin, or Avant, and Baskett has shown he can be productive as the team's fourth receiver. I'd still expect us to draft someone in the later rounds.

Yeah I really like the Marlin Jackson signing. I'm not expecting him to contribute much this year, but he's definitely capable of contributing in a big way. Like you, I still hope we bring in some more competition at safety (either Atogwe or through the draft).
