I attended the Caps/Flyers at the Wachovia Center last December when the Caps lost 7-1. I had the audacity to stand and cheer when the Caps finally scored a goal (it was 4-0 at that point) and some 17 year-old schmuck directly behind me starts cursing at me and calling me every name in the book and even grabs my Ovechkin jersey. His father probably beat him senseless as a child and this is the only way he knows how to deal with his anger. A fistfight may have ensued if the usher didn't step in and call the kid out of his seat. Hopefully he was sent to the jail that should exist within the WC. But no, he was back in his seat a few minutes later. He stayed quiet this time tho.
Then the next day I went to the Redskins' victory over the Eagles at FedEx and dealt with numerous insults/curse words and my friend even had a punch thrown at him by a drunken Eagles fan, merely b/c he was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
I also went to the Redskins' win over Philly at FedEx in 2005 and saw two fights in my section, Eagles fans participating in both. This almost never happens when the Skins are not playing Philly.
I have lots of experiences with Philly fans at pro sporting events and nearly all of them have been bad so for you to say I "have no clue regarding Philly fans outside of what he hears on ESPN" could not be more wrong so kindly STFU. thanks!
I don't know if I've posted this before, but I've been to Fed Ex field where a group of Eagles fans got maced by some Redskins fans. I'm sure a lot of **** was said that led to this, but let's not act like all non-Philly fans are above these sort of things.
