probably because they figured out he didnt instigate the fight.

People always say that and it makes no sense, so if someone instigates me I can just punch em in the head twice....lol

We'll of course not, it's still not OK that he punched someone, thus the fine. But for the amount of the fine, it matters. If he just cold cocked someone for no reason, the fine would have been much greater.

I can get on board with that.

Reid also divulged today that rookie Moise Fokou will play at strong-side linebacker along with regular starter Chris Gocong. "They're both good players," Reid said. "There is a chance both of them are on the field at the same time. There's a chance one of them is on the field."
Has Gocong been that bad?

Reid also said Reggie will start, but Curtis will play. Confirmed no Westbrook this week.

I've been staying away from this thread and the EMB for awhile now for my own health. I really think posting about this team too much is going to give my a heart attack, but obviously things are going much better with the winning streak and I feel it's safe for me to post again.

I really like the way the team is playing. I think the defense against the Giants was a blip and not a real concern for the team. I'd just like to see some lineup consistency for the defense heading into the playoffs.

I was at the Atlanta game. That was a lot of fun (but the Georgia Dome has to be the quietest stadium I've ever been in). It was definitely a different experience for me. The only Eagles away games I've been too have been in Washington, and there's definitely a huge Eagles presence at those games. There wasn't tons of Eagles fans at the Falcons game, but after we got out to a huge lead everyone was going nuts for Vick.

I'm going to the game against the Broncos on the 27th. I'm hoping the weather will be better than for the game tomorrow.

I was a little worried about the game tomorrow, but the weather has me even more worried. We should still be able to come away with the win. It would be very nice to clinch tomorrow.

I'm not a huge Gocong fan, but he definitely hasn't been that bad. We have had a lot of coverage problems though, so they probably just want to have a more athletic set of linebackers to cover Davis. Hence Fokou.

I'm hoping Maclin and Westbrook will be good to go for the playoffs. I'm very optimistic about Maclin's chances. Much less so for Westbrook. Getting Maclin back is more important to this team right now though.

Maclin should be fine by playoff time.

You mean 6 catches of 90 yards and a td each right? So 540 yards total and 6 scores? Sounds about right.

Westbrook, Maclin OUT. Curtis IN. Eagles also made a switch in their roster this week, putting PJ Hill back on the practice squad and promoting TE Martin Rucker.

Inactives: Westbrook, Maclin, Laws, Andrews, McGlynn, Pope, Rucker, Kolb.

Niners are without Bruce and Nate Clements.

Halftime

Alex Smith looks horrible. He's bailing from the pocket in a lot of spots where he doesn't have to; his line is doing a pretty good job protecting, Smith just has to find a receiver and get rid of the ball. The third pick was a joke. 7/17 with 3 picks, ouch. Wonder if they will bench him.

We need to run some counters or end-arounds or something to slow down their pursuit.

I like the 4th down call. It's correct to go for it, it just didn't work that time. Stay aggressive Reid.

Uhhhh... Weaver?

Look for the Eagles to go play-action max-protect with a huge double move bomb to DJax at some point in the second half, for ****s and giggles if nothing else.

LOL I think they were trying to do it on the first play of the second half but it fell apart and McNabb tossed the pick.

Not the pretty game by the Eagles. But good thing they didn't have to come anywhere close to their best game to beat the 49ers.

The first tiebreaker between us and Minnesota would be conference record, right?

Just locked up my tickets for next week's game while I'm home for Christmas...Hopefully we can get a Carolina upset tonight so we can have a moderate shot at a bye.
