I mean, he's not arguably better than Prescott or Carr at this point (and honestly I would take Carr right now over him) To put him top 5 is laughable. The kid seems like he's going to be good, but let's hold off judgement until he's in a playoff game against an elite defense before we put him in that group.
My god this list is like a car crash. I don’t want to look at it but I can’t stop.
First off, Flacco and Eli are lifetime mediocre QBs, who have had flashes of above average play in certain stretches. Wentz is clearly a better QB then both. And, no, if Wentz’ career followed Flacco’s career trajectory as far as actual quarterback play, I would not be doing cartwheels. I’d be extremely disappointed.
Wentz right now is already a top 10 QB in the league, and probably the #1 asset in the league overall when you consider upside, age, pedigree, intangibles, etc...
Luck May have something to say about that if he somehow gets healthy and stays healthy. At this point in time though, if every GM is starting a team from scratch that they are going to be in control of for the next 15 years, and they had to pick one player to start their team, I’m pretty positive more GMs would pick Wentz than any other player.
There might be some who choose Rodgers since he’s the GOAT and has so much instant super bowl equity and probably has 5 years left, but overall Wentz is probably the best asset in football.
