All I'm saying is people like Eli Manning and Flacco deserve a lot more respect than they get. Eli beat two lolgood Patriots teams, one of those being arguably the best of all time. Flacco transferred through schools and led the University of Delaware to get picked in the 1st round of the draft, and then immediately went to the playoffs, in the AFC Championship vs the Steelers. He lost at the ripe old age of 23 (or so).

An eternity of 4 years later he won a Superbowl and was named MVP, after being in the playoffs for his first four seasons.

You can bash this kid as much as you want, but the truth is he put in more work and has a bigger heart than 99% of everyone you've ever met. No matter what he does from here on out, he's a stone-cold winner. Whether he's a better choice of a franchise QB this very second over Wentz, we can discuss, but for you to argue that he's some kind of loser is a complete joke.

If Wentz, as of today, followed Flacco's career (which has has NOT), every Eagles fan in the country would do cartwheels. Including you.

Eli beat the patriots?!!? Lol. No. The Giants D beat the Pats. They were held to 14 and 17 points in those games while averaging 37 and 32 ppg in the regular season, respectively. The Pats D those years gave up 17 and 21 points in the loses, and what was their average points against per game that year? 17 and 21.

Giants D was beastly, no doubt. But they had so many tough games on both those runs. On the road in Green Bay, that brutal game against San Fran in San Fran. And, they did that run twice.

Eli isn't Joe Montana but what that whole team did, twice, was downright amazing. I'm an Eagles fan and I despise the Giants, but those two runs were essentially the best thing I've ever seen in the NFL except for possibly the 4 straight Superbowl runs from the Buffalo Bills. I dunno, I guess I just give him more credit than the average guy.

tier 1 is obv godgers and bardy

failing to put wentz in the next tier is the height of tomfoolery

give him AB & leveon, we'd be talking MVP odds. put him in a dome with julio, we'd be talking MVP odds

he's making agholor & ertz look like edelman & gronk. he's a special talent. he's doing more with less. you'll be telling your grandkids about him

I'd be curious what those numbers were after 5 games last year. I don't think the same thing will happen, but it's still a small sample.

You take the winner narrative way too far. If Wentz becomes Joe Flacco or Eli Manning then I'm pretty sure all of us would be sorely disappointed in his development.

If Wentz took us to the NFC championship game in year 1, then playoffs for the next 3 and then won a Superbowl, he'd easily be the best QB the Eagles have ever had if he was ranked dead last for the 5 years after that.

Would you disagree?

The casual fan would probably think so, but non-idiots would likely disagree. Luckboxing a SB does not invalidate half a dozen years of below average-God awful QB play.

100% agree with A5.

Your argument is like saying Bob Greise is the greatest QB in Dolphins history. Sorry Danny, probably top 5 QB all time, you suck compared to Big Bobby cause you couldn't play 21 other positions and will a SB victory

I mean, he's not arguably better than Prescott or Carr at this point (and honestly I would take Carr right now over him) To put him top 5 is laughable. The kid seems like he's going to be good, but let's hold off judgement until he's in a playoff game against an elite defense before we put him in that group.
My god this list is like a car crash. I don’t want to look at it but I can’t stop.

First off, Flacco and Eli are lifetime mediocre QBs, who have had flashes of above average play in certain stretches. Wentz is clearly a better QB then both. And, no, if Wentz’ career followed Flacco’s career trajectory as far as actual quarterback play, I would not be doing cartwheels. I’d be extremely disappointed.

Wentz right now is already a top 10 QB in the league, and probably the #1 asset in the league overall when you consider upside, age, pedigree, intangibles, etc...

Luck May have something to say about that if he somehow gets healthy and stays healthy. At this point in time though, if every GM is starting a team from scratch that they are going to be in control of for the next 15 years, and they had to pick one player to start their team, I’m pretty positive more GMs would pick Wentz than any other player.

There might be some who choose Rodgers since he’s the GOAT and has so much instant super bowl equity and probably has 5 years left, but overall Wentz is probably the best asset in football.

You have a terrible case of casual fan syndrome. I bet you think Terry Bradshaw was better than Dan Marino as well right??

This argument is ridiculous and completely out of line in terms of the mentality in Philadelphia. We want to win a Superbowl, period. Winning 11-15 games a year and going deep into the playoffs means nothing. We've been there with Reid/McNabb. It wasn't good enough. Reid/McNabb won a hell of a lot of games for us and Philly was absolutely sick of not being able to get over the hump.

I don't know where you people live but I'm telling you from a person who actually lives in Philadelphia (unlike the last 3 people who've chimed in on the subject) winning a championship is the only goal. If we had Joe Flacco's or Eli's career play out right here (playoffs and winning a Superbowl and then considered "mediocre") I'd die happy, and so would the rest of this city.

I agree with this, but the other stuff you posted is bordering on insanity.

In no way shape or form is Joe Flacco anywhere close to the skill level of Wentz (and it's still only year 2 of his career). I also don't think it's real close with Eli/Alex Smith either. I know Eli has 2 Super Bowls, but I'm talking straight skill set.

Again, I'm not arguing the finer points of any of the QBs I listed. If we were in some sort of situation where we had to bet money on who would win more games, right now, in the next two years, I'd take most of, if not all of, the QBs on that list over Wentz right now (trading out QBs).

****, I might take Jared Goff over Wentz right now (and I would definitely take Prescott over Wentz). Wentz will almost assuredly be a good quarterback, but you guys are way over the top with enthusiasm. We have a long road ahead of us and longevity means something.

And yes, in a playoff game, right now, I'd take Flacco over an unproven Wentz all day.

wentz holds more talent in his disgraceful facial hair than bert has in his whole body

i understand being cautious with young players, but in this case you might as well go hog wild because barring catastrophic injury he's going all the way
