Yeah, I'd say it was a great debut too. It's the Browns and only 1 game, but I've already seen enough to be convinced that he's better than what Bradford would have been in the short-term this year. If he keeps steadily progressing, maybe we can contend for the East which looks to be wide open. OPTIMISM.
For what it's worth, I think Sam would have played well in this game too. Your statement about whether or not Bradford starting over Wentz in the short term would provide us more immediate success this year is debatable, and quite frankly, not important. What's important is this kid came in and led this offense week one like a veteran quarterback while playing almost mistake free football. I'm sure he'll run into adversity and hit bumps in the road like most rookie quarterbacks do, but God damn was that ever a special performance given his prior experience and lack of reps in the preseason.
I'm slightly more optimistic about this season, but much more optimistic about the future. If we see more of that poise, confidence, and command of the offense in the games to come, then I'll be all in.
